The 2nd greatest player to ever do it, tbh..

The degree of difficulty on that layup was pretty crazy, tbh..only 2 seconds on the clock, having to make a quick, imedia the move and keep your balance, in addition to finishing, against an elite defender in Paul George..

Dad Killer is the only other player that could have replicated that finish, tbh..

Lebron was actually really passive and had some bad turnovers in the 4th and OT. Basically if he can't rely on his ridiculous God-given physical attributes to get to the basket easily, he'd really struggle. But he's incredibly fortunate to have all that God-given ability to lean on.

Shitty defense, but you gotta credit Miami for the right idea, i.e. putting the ball in LJ's hands and, most importantly, attacking the basket.
If LJ had blown the layup, there would have been a foul called, for certain.

I don't think Indy can recover. Miami in 4.

true, it looked to me like there was a time delay when bron first got the ball in his hands. time hadn't run out yet when the layup was made, but when the clock started counting, lebron was already halfway for the layup imho.

can't only blame the clock though. pacers played poor defense on bron for the 2.2 secs (at least they should've double-teamed him or forced him to launch a contested shot rather than let him go straight to the rim for an easy layup) and lebron only had time to beat

I thought Lebron was supposed to be better than Jordan? If that's the case, this game shouldn't have even been decided in OT. Superfriends should have beaten the Pacers by 10 to 20 points. They won by 1 fuckin' point. This Heat team is not better than any of those Jordan Bulls teams.

That's a fair point. The only clutch part of it was realising that the Pacers gave him an open lane to the basket and him taking it. The actual shot itself was as simple as they come.

That .7 second shot with Ray Allen was ridiculous. He had enough time to catch the ball, take a step, turn around completely and shoot. In .7. :lol

First, the TOSB is having a mediocre series, it's the spurs role players that are playing out of their minds.

Second, i've seen this movie before, as far as i'm concerned this series still is a backdoor sweep if you can't get a W in Memphis and the spurs are starting to choke.

A make is a make. Kobe can shoot an off balanced heavily contested and it'll look difficult and all but he'll brick that shot more than 60% of the time. Lebron scanned the defense for a weakness and took the high percentage shot that he'll make 90% of the time. It's all about intelligence and Lebron has always valued efficiency over pretty looking off balanced long jump shots.

It was left handed if that makes anyone feel better :lol

And Gasol and Randolph are having awful series.

Not to mention, Duncan is having a great series defensively. The Griz were 4-24 from inside 5 feet in game 2 with Duncan on the floor vs 9-15 with him on the bench. Fat ass Randolph was only able to score when Duncan wasn't in the game.

That said, Griz are a resilient bunch, so this thing is by no means over, but it'll be a tall order for them to win 4 out of 5 against a team as disciplined and experienced as the Spurs, especially considering their lack of offensive firepower.

LeBron James isn't clutch? Think again
By ESPN Stats & Information
ESPN.com

What can’t LeBron James do?

Score 30 points? Check.

Triple-double? No problem.

Game winner at the buzzer? Sure.

LeBron is the first player in NBA postseason history with a triple-double and a buzzer-beater game winner in the same game.

Magic never did it. Jordan never did it. Bird never did it. Not even Oscar or Wilt. Only LeBron.

Not too long ago, the discussion was about how LeBron wasn’t clutch. That no longer seems to be a discussion.

Since LeBron came into the league in 2003-04, nobody in the NBA has made more game-tying and go-ahead shots in the final 24 seconds of playoff games than LeBron, who is 7-of-16 on those shots. His 43.8 field goal percentage on those clutch shots ranks the best in the NBA since his rookie season among players with at least 10 attempts. The league average is 28.3 percent on those shots.

Along with his buzzer-beater layup to defeat the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, LeBron also made a go-ahead layup with just under 11 seconds remaining in overtime.

The buzzer-beater was LeBron’s first game winner in the final 10 seconds of a playoff game since his buzzer-beater against the Magic in Game 2 of the 2009 Eastern Conference finals.

Coincidentally, that shot came exactly four years ago to the day -– May 22, 2009.

The last time any NBA player made a buzzer-beater to win a playoff game was Paul Pierce for the Celtics in 2010 against the Heat.

LeBron and Ralph Sampson are the only players in NBA history with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks in a playoff game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Sampson did it in 1986 for the Rockets against the Nuggets. Blocks became an official statistic in 1973-74.

Since the 2006 postseason, a player has had a playoff triple-double with at least 30 points four times. All four of those players are named LeBron James.

The last player other than LeBron to accomplish that feat was Steve Nash, for the Suns in 2005 against the Mavericks.

LeBron and Oscar Robertson are the only players in NBA history with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a playoff game four times, according to Elias. LeBron has done it four times, while Robertson has done it eight times.

LeBron now has nine career postseason triple-doubles, which ties him with Wilt Chamberlain for fifth on the all-time list, according to Elias. Only Magic Johnson (30), Jason Kidd (11), Rajon Rondo (10) and Larry Bird (10) have more.

If not for Wade ruining the spacing of the offense when he checked in, leading to turnovers and blowing their lead, it wouldn't have come down to last-minute heroics and overtime and there still would have been a Game 7.... period, end of story, tbh....

I don't blame Bron but this isn't the best look. Sometimes he'd be better adopting the Kobe, MJ and sometimes even Wade mentality of playing with a chip on his shoulder, not reacting when someone tries to screw him over and dropping 50 the next night. At the end of the day, he's a marked man and he shouldn't give scrubs like Plumlee a reaction.

Maybe we should have seen this coming; end-of-game struggles have been all too common for the Heat’s opponents in these playoffs. Through Tuesday night, the Heat have outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points per 100 possessions in the fourth quarter, the best mark by any team in the playoffs.

Miami Heat Point Differential Per 100 Possessions
http://espnfivethirtyeight.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/fourth_heat_levy.png?w=1030&h=234

The Heat’s differential by quarter was fairly even in the regular season, although there’s a tilt toward the second half. Miami has often gotten off to slow starts in the playoffs, but, more often than not, the Heat have finished by blowing teams apart down the final stretch. If we narrow the focus to those mystical “clutch” moments (less than five minutes left in the game, neither team ahead by more than five points) the Heat’s per 100 possession point differential jumps to a ludicrous +82.1 (of course, that’s in a sample of just 14 minutes, three of which came in Tuesday night’s game).
