Watching last nights game between Heat/Pacers makes me think it could be a series. With Spurs up 2-0 the faster they finish, the more the rest.

let's take this one game at a time, shall we?

all right, i'll play. getting one means they only need one more. and getting that one win in game 3 will ease the anxiety of needing to win game 4 and the thinking they might go back to san antonio with the series tied 2-2.

so winning game 3 will shed a ton of worry off the spurs' collective shoulders. they shouldn't go in thinking they have a couple of chances of getting a split. they have to think "we have to get this win now".

that being said, we'll probably lose game 4 afterwards.

Game 3 is huge. Obviously if the spurs win game 3, they most likely gonna win the series. If grizz win, the spurs could be rattled mentally thinking oh oh here we go again

Thus, the quicker they finish this series, the more rest they get no matter what.

T Park, I don't get how your post fits into the conversation of this thread. Yes, the finals start on a set date. So as the OP stated, if Spurs finish early they get more rest. If they take 7 games they get less. What are you trying to convey for the five hunded millionth time?

Whatever it is, he's wrong as usual. The Spurs need to have more rest than Miami, and they need to hope Miami gets less rest than they need.

The longer the series for Miami the more banged up they get and the less rest they get. Miami has a workhorse in Lebron and Bosh plays against the spurs well but Wade is falling apart despite a pretty good 4th quarter against the Pacers and the bench players they have are not all spring chickens. If we can get more rest I think we'll benefit greatly from that especially for Leonard who has that knee issue and parker with the calf and other stuff.

Um, winning a damn playoff game is all the incentive you need. It's not like the Spurs are going to let off the gas on purpose.

We have been playing better with 2-3 days rest and not any longer or shorter. so maybe it should just go to game 5/6 for the rhythm to continue into the finals
