THIS is how refs are able to influence games to be more exciting (and for bigger teams to win). Not by making big, obvious miscalls, but by selectively granting one team 50/50 calls (or calls that they usually ignore) during the slower parts of the game.

Statistically, the Heat have been getting significantly less calls on both ends(combined) than Indiana and Memphis, and have similar numbers to the Spurs..you would expect a different result based on Miami's star players and the volume of comings from NBA fans..

Hmmm
A team with no post play ...
Heavily reliant in 3's
And plays a transition game leading to quick buckets with no chance to foul ...

I wonder why they get less FT's than two teams that play in the post ...

The Pacers have looked really solid against the Heat. . .not gonna lie.

It's strange, but I'm getting the feeling they may be able to beat the Heat unless the Pacers crack mentally or one of Miami's big 3 goes off each game they win.

If the Pacers had a go-to player maybe, but they don't, so they usually just post up West of Hibbert in the clutch and that almost always fails, ala Game 1. Paul George isn't a good enough score to go to consistently down the stretch. His miraculous shot sent it to OT, but they never should've been there in the first place. Plus, Miami will turn up the D in crunch time and Indiana will really struggle to score.

Heat are much better than Dubs and once Curry got hurt they lacked penetraion ...

They already lacked penetration before Curry got hurt. People need to stop exempting game 3 when he got hurt right at the end of that game. The secret to them getting locked down was that SA was giving them way too much respect on their driving abilities. They kept sagging off and that's what they wanted. Klay can't drive for shit and neither can Jack unless he gets a head of steam or has a slow big on him. Curry, while good, is not an elite slasher like D. Rose, Westbrook, Parker, etc either. The Spurs were just defending them improperly at first.

We'll see man, but the Pacers haven't been fluking it to stay close. They got lucky to send game 1 to OT, but they have played them well for a significant portion of this first game and a half so far. I think they deserve props for it since it's kind of unexpected it's actually this close. The Heat aren't exactly dominating them. . .they got lucky too.

Every team gets hot tbh. The Heat have the highest potential out of any team in the NBA in terms of ceiling, but they have yet to reach it. So far this year in the playoffs, GS had the best perimeter shooting while the Heat have underwhelmed (thanks in large part to Battier and Allen shitting the bed). Could be the same scenario as last year, but as of now the Heat's 3-point threat isn't as main a concern as it should be.

Agree but they are way overdue. Im calling it right now game 1 or 6 (if it goes that far) will be a 3 point barrage by the Heat in the finals.
James or Bosh will start it and ray, Miller, Battier and Chalmers will finish it.

that's because the pacers match up well with Heat i think. Spurs dont have a 7'3 center that can basically dominate the paint on both ends of floor. spurs will be evenly matched in the paint by bosh, haslem and birdman, while the heat have MUCH better talent at the perimeter which's obvious. Spurs will definitely have a chance because they have a coach that's head and shoulders above the phillibeaner but it's hard to say which one (talent advantage or brain advantage) will overwhelm the other.
