How complimentary of this Memphis douche:

1. Is Tim Duncan better than Marc Gasol?
Chip Crain, 3 Shades of Blue: Yes. Duncan is one of the top 50 players in NBA history; Gasol has had a great season. If you need someone to play 40-plus minutes and carry the team at the defensive end, I'd take Gasol. But Duncan is better for the first 40 minutes.

Might be the worst take of all time.

Duncan is at least top 15 and most would agree top 10 too.

Only haters would put Timmy below #10 all time, one.

Two, someone would really prefer Fats Gasol in the guts of the game to Timmy D if there was a clear cut choice of playing one of them? LOL.

Marc Gasol can throw a nice pass and do some nice things for a tall center but in the class of Duncan at any time - hell no- what a joke

a lot of butthurt spurs fans in here lol Guy prob didn't really think and consider the difference you guys are hating for lol He just admits duncan > gasol and you guys still get butthurt about it lel

Why not get butthurt over these:

Danny Nowell, Portland Roundball Soc. (http://www.portlandroundballsociety.com/): No. Duncan's first-team All-NBA selection was a legacy call, and I'm fine with that, but Gasol is the better player at this moment.

Darius Soriano, Forum Blue and Gold (http://forumblueandgold.com/): ... Gasol's the better defensive player and is just as skilled offensively (even though he's not the post player Duncan is).

Might be the worst take of all time.

I`d take Gasol as better player after 50+ minutes too.

I'll never understand the need for some people in here to get all high and mighty. You do realize this isn't my article right? And this is a board where people come to post Spurs related information? Don't worry, you win bro.

That's definitely up for debate. I just found it humorous that he said 'top 50 of all time' when he's clearly higher than that.

Duncan is top 7 right now and will go to top 5 if he gets his 5th ring this year.

And that's no knock on Timmy, as I think Gasol is currently the world's best center. Or, "power forward," if we're indulging Duncan.

:lmao legacy call. Wonder how many spurs games this guy watched this season.

Who would he pick in overtime?

As HIMYM's Barney Stinson would say: "Haha, please". Seriously though, His take MIGHT be correct IF the comparison was between '13 TD and fat Gasol. But on closer look, Even TOSB TD can play him evenly. At worst, outplayed by juuuuuuust a little bit. Heck, Prime TD would eat prime Gasol for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I don't even get what his point is. If Duncan plays 40 minutes, he's better, but if he plays 41, gasp! What then? He magically turns into a pumpkin or some shit?

Gasol had a very good year, but Duncan's was still better even at 37. Stats, wins, everything backs it.

Duncan is at least top 15 and most would agree top 10 too.

#7 imo, and that's my non homer opinion. But I do have him above Kobe. I honestly don't see how anyone could rank Duncan below 8 or 9 unless they hate him or the Spurs. His accomplishments, staying power, and stats are too vast to drop him any lower.

You cant have a guy considered best ever at his position(power forward) anywhere below top 6-7 of all time. Just look at the rankings. MJ(best ever SG)...Magic(best ever PG)...Bird(best ever SF)...Kareem(best ever C)...all considered top 5 of all time. But Duncan as best ever PF isnt? LMAO....give me a break. Only reason Duncan isnt up there is because he plays for a small market...MJ...Magic...Bird...Kareem...all played for big markets. Duncan, IMO, is already top 7...and if he wins his 5th ring...he is top 5 easily.

Its no coincidence the top 5 players of all time are the best players to ever play their position.

PG:Magic
SG:Jordan
SF:Bird
PF: Duncan
C:Kareem

He's not wrong. Duncan is a top 50 player all-time for sure. He's also a top 40 player, a top 30 player, a top 20 player, and a top 10 player.
