That's the more logical pick.

Memphis NEEDS to win tonight or they will get swept.

Most of em picked Memphis in game 2 as well. I've yet to see anything from Memphis to think the spurs can't sweep. As long as popovich learns from his stupid mistakes in game two, the spurs should be OK.

if i was a betting man this would be the game i would pick Memphis to win...but i think the spurs still win in 5 or 6

Chip Crain, 3 Shades of Blue (http://www.3sob.com/): Yes. Duncan is one of the top 50 players in NBA history; Gasol has had a great season. If you need someone to play 40-plus minutes and carry the team at the defensive end, I'd take Gasol. But Duncan is better for the first 40 minutes.

Really? Top 50?

if they are ever going to win a game, then this is the one.

The Grizz have been GIVEN more FTAs in the first two games, 20-14 in game one and 26-17 (with 4 intentional foul FTs for SA late in OT) in game 2.

Expect a parade of FTs for Memphis. Expect Duncan, Green, Kawhi and probably Splitter to be in foul trouble. Expect Joey Crawford's typical arrogant bullshit. It won't be enough.

Expect a Spurs win.

I'm sure the whole team (especially Pop & Tim) knows that, so they'll probably be careful in the first half.

It won't matter. You could probably call a foul on almost any NBA defensive play, and they will tonight.

On betting forums, every trend is on Grizzlies. 12-0 ATS in coferences finals for home team after one team goes 2-0. Grizz are 6-0 ATS in home after 2 losses. etc.

But I think Spurs will take this one.

I thought Memphis would take it tonight too.

But then I remembered their best scorer is a guy named Pondexter. :lmao

I'm impressed. After taking a 2-0 lead, winning on the road in Memphis is exactly what a champion would do.

Well, they are bloggers, not basketball experts. A lot of the good posters on ST know as much, if not more, than them about basketball.

Anyone even remotely connected with little espn or who works as a sometimes, semi, know nothing sports journalist's is simply put a braindead dunderhead doofus...period!!! The vast majority of these imbeciles have won their city's 'Village Idiot of the Year' award every year. The Spurs could win the NBA championship for 20 straight years and all we'd get from these morons are "duhhhhhhhhhhh, ain't they too old to be playing basketball at any level". Screw em all.

If I were a national writer, I would probably have picked Memphis too. Tough series, Memphis theoretically needs it more, and surely they won't be swept, right?

But as a Spurs fan, I knew they'd go after this one like it was their last chance and pull it out.

The problem for the Grizzlies is that they rely so much on the other team beating themselves that it's hard for them to get separation. Their offense can't win games by itself. Great defense correlates highly with championship teams but you can't win on defense only.
