View Full Version : Should Pop rest the starters tonight?

The Finals are around the corner, and with an aging team you want to get them as much rest as possible.

This would be a great time to give the bench more experience in preparation for the final round.

Sit out the Big 3 and Kawhi, and let Gary Neal shine as a franchise player for one night only.

I think they're on a JetBlue flight back to SA right now.

We will have 10days rest already

No. Tonight's game isn't just any other game. If we win, we will be the Western Conference Champs. We should end the series as soon as possible. The team will have plenty of rest before the Finals (almost too much).

That's a 500,000 fine in the playoffs

Go all in first and be quick to pull them if it doesn't look good!

Just try to win with Timmy and Manu at ~25minutes and parker with not more than 35.

Can't believe 1/2 the posters actually think this thread is serious. :lmao

Game 4 is a must win, Neal meltdown, rest the starters in a WCF closeout game. Get ahold of yourself, ST poster. This is what happens when you're up 3-0

Yeah the Grizz are not going to lay down and die for us they are going to put up a fight. So Pop don't screw up again and unless you have a twenty point lead with less then five minutes play your starters.

This is defenitely not the game to go all out in. Will have 2 more chances at home to seal the deal.

they're typical bait to get GNSF reactions, tbh... I recall starting a couple of them last season mid-Utah/Clippers series and they never fail, tbh :lol

This would be incredibly insulting both to the league and the Grizzlies. If the stakes weren't so high, I'd almost be inclined to say yes.

No. Win tonight with a sweep and the team will have 10 days of rest (if my math is correct.)

THERE'S your rest.

Im assuming its a joke tbh. I remember last year someone made a similar thread asking if we should keep the Big 3 in San Antonio instead of flying them out to Salt Lake City. :lol

Professional lurker here.
In general, the posters here seem wise, informed and have some good thoughts and insight. That's why I lurk. However, that being said, this may be the stupidest post I've ever seen and felt the need to say so. I suggest putting Tim's foot of their throats early and beat them into submission.
Heal and prepare.
Rest the starters. WTF!?! WCF's fool.

San Antonio Spurs ‏@spurs (https://twitter.com/spurs) 27 May (https://twitter.com/spurs/status/338461091912880128) Game 4 starters: T-Mac, Blair, Bonner, Joseph and Neal.

Champions go for the throat every chance possible. They dont sit players when up 3-0 in a series.

I'd like to see Pop do this, as illogical as it may be, just for the firestorm it would cause, tbh. :lol
