View Full Version : Uniforms?
Any parent in here with kids who wear school uniforms? My daughter's middle school requires them and I am trying to find stores(other than walmart) that may have good deals/sales along with good quality.
I went to Lands End and I am up to $300 without shipping and taxes on 3 pairs of pants, 4 shorts/skorts and 10 shirts. Geez.

What's wrong with Walmart?
My experience with their children's clothing is they don't hold up well. They shrink and their colors fade after a couple of washes. The uniform line may be different, I don't know.

If you look really close, you will find that Walmart has the same clothes (fabrics, styles, exact same clothes) that other, more expensive stores (like Sears, Kids R Us, and J.C. Penny). The tags are different, but it's the same clothes. You can pay more, but you're getting the same thing.

All uniforms do is force kids to find some other way to draw attention to themselves.

If i were you just buy the cheapest uniform available, and get extra material and sew pads in the knee area and elbow areas, those are the main areas that usually ripped. Thats what my parents use todo, saves alot of money instead of buyin extra pair of uniforms u dont even wear untill u grow out of it.

Stevenson MS keeps threatening uniforms, but it still hasn't passed yet.

At Land's End that's not too bad... :wow :lol
Foleys is always where I end up. Not as cheap (quality-wise) as Walmart, but not as expensive as Dillards or Macy's...and they always have good sales. But you'll have to back away from the computer and go outside to get there.

I wore uniforms in middle school, and I want to say my sister and I got ours at Academy.
I hated uniforms. To this day, I cannot wear khaki.

Walmart clothes are not as good as clothes you pay more for. There is a reason they are that cheap and you get what you pay for.

I just wish my son's school would let them wear shorts. The girls can wear mid-thigh length skirts, but not shorts or skorts. The hell?

Target
We bought my son's navy pants and red or white shirts there for years...they are good quality and reasonably priced.

Yeah, when I buy girls clothes for myself, I do not go to target.

Well I have a problem with Sears too......except for their lands end line.

Aw man, I do not want to go out in this heat. F*ck it, I'll pay the extra. :lol
The shirts were a great price at Land's End but all their pants were $26.50.

No skorts??? WTF?

The girls clothing is crap. This past spring I bought my daughter's shorts from the boys dept. The girl's dept shorts were too short.

The Goodwill Store!
They have butt-loads of virtually brand new jeans for $5/ea...I've gotten Hilfiger, Eddie Bauer and Levi's with the tags still on them. :)

I've had a lot of success finding great clothes at Target. I really do like that place. Their shirts fade a bit fast, but other than that I love it.

I love Goodwill! The last time I went I bought two sleeveless sweaters, Pierre Cardin and Eddie Bauer, for 0.50/piece. :smokin
