I've been posting here for nearly 10 years now and to be honest, I spent a lot of the championship years bitching about losses to teams like Milwaukee and the like in the middle of March. Glass was always half empty blah blah blah.

The reality is, we're not going to beat the Heat but you know what, we may not make another NBA Finals for another 15-20 years, who the hell knows.

Just enjoy this moment. Enjoy that after 2010 when things seemed crap, and the team seemed too old and too injured that our Spurs defied the odds when they were counted out at some point heading into virtually every series (including by yours truly) but still hung tough.

The Spurs are in the NBA Finals. Say it out loud. What was once taken for granted has now turned into one of the sweetest post season runs in the franchise's history.

You guys are great, this board is great, and most of all this team is really f*cking great.

Get trashed, call in sick tomorrow, and enjoy this run.

Christ, I've been coming here for a long time as well. The reality is...this board has changed. From TimVP telling us how great the Grizzlies are, with the obligatory "reverse jinx" mea culpa...to crap like this.

If I thought this was a decent breakdown of strengths and weaknesses, with some rational thought behind it, I might take it seriously.

But this sounds more like a hormonal, time of the month, bittersweet, lost love romance novel.

Emotions have made the frequent posters here all maudlin.

Here's what the "reality is."

You don't know shyt. And if you did, you'd be betting your mortgage on the outcome. So quit emoting all over the place and find yourself a testosterone supplement.

Show some fucking faith in your team, though. Will it be David vs. Goliath? Maybe, but it will be Good vs. Evil, though and that's enough for me to believe we can win it all. It will be a battle of class, teamwork, and hard work vs. greed, flash, and attention-whores. Fuck the heat. The way I see it, they have no answer for TD and TP. We have answers for Bosh and Wade. Let Lebron get his ESPN dunk of the day and let him think he's as good as MJ. One man can't beat this team. Right?

Yep, no different then those saying this team WASN'T gonna make the finals. It's the absolute statement that rubs me the wrong way. Have an opinion all you want but don't act like your opinion is the only possibility.

A Finals loss would suck, but after the heartbreak of last season, I can't help but be glad these guys came roaring back and did it again. I have no reason to believe the Spurs can't give Miami a run for their money, but even losing to them on the NBA big stage won't dampen this run too much.

I really dont care what happens now unless of course we play the pacers, im gonna enjoy every bucket, rebound, assist, block, steal and all hustle plays by every single spur, especially tim mufakin duncan

Fuk that, if you're gonna get shit on in the finals might as well lose in the 1st round. I want the Spurs to win it all and it would be a huge disappointment if they didn't.

Been on here just As long. Been a spur fan all my life. Dad use to take me to spurs games at the hemisphere arena. I remember you use to be able to smoke in there and the top of the arena looked like a cloud. Lol. Anyways I have enjoyed this run. Been all over the world with the military. Took a lot of shit being a spur fan. But all of that changed when the lottery gods blessed us with the alpha and the omega of the spurs. Tim duncan. I say that cause I never see the spurs ever doing this again in my lifetime. Hell what organization can? Savor every moment. Remember duncans rookie year against the suns in the playoffs!!!! listen to the announcers call that game. its incredible. Besides gervin i have never seen a spur do that in the playoffs. Then we have the greatest point guard ever in this organization. No one comes close to this guy. I feel so bad for big Dave having to put up with mediocre point guards in his career and mediocre coaches before Pop. Thank god Timmy had Parker. Not only does Timmy get Parker he gets MANU. Holy shit!!! What can you say about Manu. My god MANU is a GOD. And then you throw in Pop, RC and an owner who backs them! I just don't have enough words to thank the spurs for bringing this joy into my family and friends life. It's just a great night. Savor every moment indeed!!!!

Just awesome to see the Spurs in the Finals in 2013 with one more chance to raise another banner. A remote chance, but nevertheless a chance. amsued man, you gotta troll this board by creating the game thread for game 1 though.

The Heat are the worst "great team" I've seen in the NBA in recent years. They never really appear that strong or unbeatable, it's just that the teams they go against are mostly pretty crap or good matchups against them.

We can definitely take the series, and, as people have said, even if we don't — I am glad we got here.

Consider it done. Last time I made the game thread I would hear random knocks on my door only to see that no one was there....hmmmm

I'm stoked that the Spurs are back in the Finals. I'm glad I'm not a player, because I'm just happy they made it back.

I thought the Mavs had almost no chance against the heat just two years ago... timvp thought the Spurs had almost no chance against the grizzlies right now...

That's why they play the games. Basketball is a game of matchups - although Memphis is almost certainly a better team than Golden State it was Golden State that took us to 6 games because their team was a more difficult matchup for us than Memphis. We just have to see how difficult of a matchup the Spurs are to the heat

The best part of it all so far...

The Spurs are back in the NBA Finals.

The Lakers are fishing.

The Thunder (and Derek Fisher) are fishing.

We got payback on the Grizzlies for 2011.

Because of the sweep, we now have 9 days off to revel in the awesomeness before the Finals begin.

5! GO SPURS GO!!!!!

How did the Heat go from Lebron choking his ass off against Dallas in 2011 to needing 7 games to scrape by an old ass Celts team in 2012 and finally getting his first ring to now his Heat are this unbeatable monster and everyone is just playing for 2nd place in 2013? This isn't the 96 Bulls folks..
