He deserves some accolades. Homie stepped up.

Unorthodox moves around the rim makes him something special. Great finisher! I just hope he toughens up in the Finals whether we face the Heat or Pacers.

That block on Bayless was pretty nice. I really missed the dominating Spurs defense we had during championship years.

if the guards can break the trap hell be the 2nd most important player for the Spurs
his ability to roll to the basket will either get easy buckets or wide open 3 point shooters
Hibbert is feasting right now putting up career highs since Paul George can pass it right over the trap
defense on Bosh will be key also

Tiago can take care of Bosh and birdman but I just hope Pop doesn't give Bonner too many minutes

exactly what I thought regarding tiago
teams have been getting so many easy looks w/ their big men against the Heat and Tiago's one of the best at doing it. He'll be able to roll all day against them, we'll see if his finishing can stand up when they're swarming at him though

I love how Splitter rejected JB's layup at the end of the game. That kind of D will be huge against Miami, They love to drive inside. If Splitter can stay mobile and aggressive, It's a HUGE plus.

Anyone have gifs on any of Tiago's 4 blocks?
Tiago Splitter was the mobile big man who could disrupt offenses to pair with an aging Duncan, tbh. Yes, I know :pop: should have started him sooner, but this is his first healthy year.

It's funny Pop defenders can't even agree with Pop on the reasons why Splitter didn't play sooner. Pop says it's because he was injured so much even though he knows that's not true. Every time he says that he gives of telltale signs he's lying. He's just hoping because the national media doesn't follow the Spurs as much no one will call his bluff.

To be fair he does say it was that injuries kept Tim and Tiago from playing enough together so that they could get the floor spacing to work. I find this answer mostly dubious, i think it had more to do with the fact that Pop didn't want to confuse the players by revamping the newly implemented motion offense to include 2 big men. Pop saw it as a decision to keep a motion offense or scrap that to go with a high low offense that was previously so stagnant way back against the Lakers.

so Splitter with his elite screen setting and rolling killed floor spacing
but Blair all around low IQ play and bad defense had no effect on spacing...

Splitter has really stepped up his game this year. He's a big part of why we're in the Finals.

Splitter is getting better each game.
Game 3 he was very good in OT alongside TD.
Game 4 was maybe the best he played ever in this playoffs.
And he's really a good passer :tu
Helped Duncan in screening TP's defenders.

Bosh was 1 for 6, 7 PTs, 3 RBs in 30 mins, game4.
He's not a low post big man, really a Euro-style jump shooting big, so Tim or Tiago would be pulled away from the paint to defend him, or have to sag off a lot.
