He is now one of only 4 players in playoffs history to play over 250 minutes and post a PER of <5, a TS% of <43% and an offensive rating of <100:lol..
The others:
2011 Mike Bibby: 415 minutes, 28% from the field, 26% from 3, 3.6 PER
2009 Sasha Vujacic: 250 minutes, 26% from the field, 31% from 3, 4.2 PER
1988 Rick Mahorn: 409 minutes, 34% from the field, 0 3s, 4.4 PER
Is Battier done, tbh?..

He was huge is last year's Finals... Also PER is a poor indicator of defensive prowess... he's there for his defense, and he's without a doubt one of the more pesky perimeters defenders in the league...
Bowen, like Battier, always posted poor PER numbers too, and except for the corner 3, his offensive numbers were putrid too. Yet, he was missed a lot when he no longer suited up for the Spurs.

He's great at taking a charge and hitting a corner 3. His defense has become exponentially worse over the last 2 years but he is still a terrific role player. I'd say he stiil has 2, maybe 3 years left in him.

Battier has the worst defensive numbers in the Heat rotation, he's been absolutely horrible on D in the playoffs..
His playoffs defensive +/- numbers are by far the worst on the team this year..
Bowen never shot less than 43% from 3 during the Spurs title runs, he excelled at his only offensive role, tbh..

And I got shit for saying kawhi Leonard is already a better defender than Battier at this point of their career. SMH. Battier has been shit/Inconsistent defensively this year. People can't stop falling from the reputation trap instead of watching the players play. For example Kobe being any close to a good defensive player the last 687956356 years.

:lol Battier has never been an elite defender, and he hasn't been a good defender in 4-5 years, tbh..
He was still a good glue-guy to have on your team for years, but he's never been comparable to Bowen or Artest, tbh..
Kawhi is leaps and bounds better than Shane at defense, but Shane doesn't have Leonard's raw ability. Leonard is as focused on defense as much as anyone I've seen.

Leonard also has mutant arms and hands:lol..

His flopping impacts games though sometimes..no joke, he totally got under West's skin and had him playing wild for a while in game 3..reminded me of when Rodman used to drive Malone nuts..about his only semi-useful skill at this point for the most part..

Outside of the Birdman and the occasional vintage game from Wade, the Heat supporting cast has been awful.
Gives me hope. The Heat look very vulnerable right now.
That said, great teams can shift into that extra gear when it appears they're ripe for the taking. I still believe the Heat are a great team, just like the '05 Spurs were after looking "vulnerable" in the 2nd round against the Sonics, and will most likely find that gear in the Finals.
Sadly, I think their "struggles" are a bit of fool's gold. More media manufactured than actual.

Battier reminds me of Rick Fox and the role he played on the early 2000's Lake Show, tbh.

Yeah, i agree with that last part mp..Their phaggotry though is real and palpable..radiates through the screen with the flopping and preening..so that's always the one constant you can depend on with them

he could put up negative PER like Perk and it wouldn't matter since that fulatto maggot would still hit a big shot against the Spurs tbh.

Listen, I don't flop like a lot of these guys," Battier said. "I know a lot of people say I flop, but I'm too old for that.

+/- is terrible as an individual stat... he plays the savvy veteran and 2nd-string defensive stopper role (Lebron is obviously the go to guy when you need lockdown D on the perimeter).
He can be an asset when matched up against older/slower players, like potentially Manu... his 3 point shooting has been MIA, but he's still taking them. Only a matter of time until they start to fall.

agree Battier just didn't have anyone to guard. :lol Bucks :lol Nate Robinson
He is outmatched vs the faster, bigger and more athletic Pacers.
He would be able to give Manu and Green a lot of trouble. Plus, that mofo will probably dran a few dagger 3s on the spurs. what's new.
Battier is hardly the problem in the Heat tbh :lol

He's done. The most the Heat can hope for from him at this point is some timely threes. His defense is subpar now, and he only makes it worse by flopping on nearly every single play. The refs won't call it every single time, and he ends up giving away open looks.
he could put up negative PER like Perk and it wouldn't matter since that fulatto maggot would still hit a big shot against the Spurs tbh.
I see what you did there.

San Antonio also looked vulnerable after Golden State tied the series 2-2, or better yet, needing a double OT win to go into Golden State 1-1.
Then they swept Memphis.

used to love this player but he's pretty much done tbh. he can hardly keep pace with most SFs, he's still decent in help defense though. Heat are using him more like an offensive option now imho, when they need hardcore D they would rather put Cole there instead of him

I hope Battier is done. Dude is one of the smartest players in the NBA who uses his high basketball IQ to gain the upperhand on opponents. I wouldnt count him out just yet. He has a good post up game and they never go thru him.
