we're talking about pacers vs heat as opposed to grizzlies vs heat. although it would be fun to see grizzlies vs pacers in a playoff series.

Talking about Grizz vs Heat opposed to Pacers vs Heat. I think both only go 6 unless Conley went HAM.

i won't argue that point. but i will say this, the grizzlies matches up better to the heat than this pacer team does.

I still don't understand how you lose a game where Wade and Bosh combine for 17 points, damn Pacers.

Their backcourt..it's murdering them..Stephenson and Hill take such bad shots I sometimes wonder if they're playing each other in a secret game of H-O-R-S-E only they know about..

Conley >>>>>>>> anyone on Indy's backcourt. However, all they'd need to do is put Lebron on him and it shouldn't matter.

what do you mean it doesn't matter? i'd like to see the heat put lebron on parker. let's see how he fairs in the slalom contest coz that's what the grizzlies are gonna do. :lmao

anyway, the point is with conley, the grizzlies will be able to put the ball right where it needs to be. hollins was bright enough to make scheme to this effect, too.

Am I the only that thinks the Pacers basically quit the game as soon as the 3rd quarter started?

Tony's been huge these playoffs, but when Lebron inevitably ends up defending him he'll be shut down. Conley would've become a turnover machine near immediately with Lebron having mo reason to start off on Prince and immediately being utilized to shut down the head of the snake. The good thing for the Spurs is that they have another elite ballhandler in Manu to take pressure off Parker. Conley has no such luxury.

You're missing the point - there's not enough legit bigs in the league today for teams to be using the "twin towers" approach, hence the shift towards a perimeter-focused style of play across the league....

No, I get that. My point is that we should have developed a twin towers attack since we've got the assets that no one else has.

Reading this thread you get the impression that spurfan (well, most of them) thinks they are the 96 Bulls. Upstairs is gonna look like Jonestown in a couple weeks.

bruh at this point ill hang up my mouse if the spurs don't win the championship, tbh.

:lol Spurs fans and Heat haters starting to tremble a little more as Saturday approaches. Once Miami clinches game 6, the Spurs fate will be sealed.

there's no organization on the heat side. just lebron deciding to dish it out or take a shot.

They're gonna make him run through screens, hence the slalom reference. And when a guy like marc gasol sets a (moving) screen, you stay screened. As limited as the grizzlies were offensively, that can at least dothat.

Wade/Bosh will show up consistently in the Finals. The role players will be great. This team will raise their play so high that the Spurs will be unable to match. Miami will impose their will on the Spurs like they did on OKC a year ago. Lebron and company want that repeat, and it is going to happen.

Heat fans were like this in game 2 of the 2011 Finals with 7 minutes left in the game and we all know that worked out. Heat fans celebrate way too early. Oh well.

:downspin:

Probably one of the greatest Finals I've seen that didn't involve the Spurs. I was damned happy to see the Mavs take out the "unbeatable Heat".

Hoping that the Spurs can do the same.

I hate the Spurs and the Heat but I'd love to see someone even the Spurs end the Superfriends era. If Superfriends don't win the Larry O'Brien trophy this year, that shit is done. Good riddance is all I have to say if that happens.

FWIW, I still think the Heat beat the Spurs in the Finals, but they aren't an easier matchup for the Heat like Robz is making them out to be.

Bonner will turn into invisible ink against the Miami Heat, shooting the lights out against Memphis is one thing but don't trust him to do it against the Heat, the Heat will put a lock on him then everyone on here will definitely want him gone after the Finals. :lol

On top of that the Heat know how to stop the Spurs ball movement, they've done it numerous times and can successfully do it 4 times in a 7 game series. The funny thing is people saying the Heat always "coast" to the Finals, when the only time they coasted to the Finals was their first year together when they won every series in 5 in the Eastern Conference playoffs before losing in the Finals. If anything the Spurs coasted to the Finals this year!

There's that, but I'm more worried about our tendency to settle for jumpers, which is only partly due to what our opponent's defense is giving us. Long stretches in which our offense freezes/fucks up isn't going to work against the Heat.

:lmao ... AAAaaaannd just like clockwork, pathetic Heat "fan" checks in right as the game is already over and done with, and tries to act like "The Godzilla of ST" or something. Whatta' fucken joke, I swear.
