$200 to sit in the third balcony of the Alamodome.....$600-$800 for anything on the lower level...over $1000 for floor

George should be ashamed....

It's always dangerous agreeing with WC, but if Strait can get those prices what's wrong with him charging them? That's how musicians make their money; by going on tour. Record companies sure don't pay them shit for the most part. I wouldn't pay $250 even if they could resurrect Hendrix and have him put on a show, but I guess it's worth it to other people.

George prices were 60-110ea, with some VIP packages for 500ea and 1kea. The 1k packages were front row seats, and 500ea packages were floors up to row 15 and lowers first 5 rows. Nbadan is talking outta his ass, George is not getting the money brokers/scalpers charge for their tickets. If anything George priced to low for the madness that ensued after the on sale. I think around 6k tickets sold on SH that day, i havent seen anything like that, specially for a concert.

The concert sold out in less than an hour...so all there was were scalper prices...George Strait should have broken the scalpers back and held back tickets or announced a second show...

You are probably right. They probably could have charged $100 to $200 for those cheaper tickets, and still sold out in a day.

U deserved two shows, i don't understand why he didn't add seeing it was his last spot. But u are wrong on the tickets being un-buyable, he just allocated in a very stupid fashion. Id be making shit up if i talked percentages, but it didn't feel like there were more then 10 percent of total tickets allocated to general on sale. The majority of tickets went to his fanclub ( which was 20 bucks i think) and amex presales, and on those you could easily buy just about anything.

What would you pay $250 to see? Hitler resurrected with all proceeds going to the 4th Reich? Chris Benoit so you could see him roided up and flying off the turnbuckle? Or perhaps Dear Leader Kim Il Sung, for obvious reasons? I'd pay to see all 3 tbh

too bad he's never written a song in his life lol.

but then again you could argue that Strait is the face of country, an embodiment of all the writers and grassroots artists radiating all their creative energy through one medium.

If anyone hasn't seen the movie "Pure Country (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105191/)," it's a great movie.Only good for camp value. The "sequel" (nothing at all to do with the original) is indescribably bad. Only viewable as an attempt to figure out how such a film ever got made. Grossed $133,771 at the box office.

And Strait can do whatever he wants and charge whatever he wants for it. You can't call a guy out if you didn't even try to get a ticket.

I'd pay $250 if Eva could get resurrected too and I got to plow her while listening to one of Adolph's great speeches live (not sure which would make me cum first tbh). Girl looks fine as fuck here at the 3:05 mark.

I gotta start a porn company and produce a movie where they have a big Nazi orgy at Hitler's vacation home.

I don't think George has much input personally into how much to charge for tickets (I'm referring to previous comments about how he can "charge whatever he wants", and "supply and demand"). I'm sure he's making a nice salary, how many other salaries are dependent on ticket sales/prices? It takes tons of people to put on a show like that, not to even mention the top-billed acts that open for him----you know that whore Reba demanded a big chunk!

I listened to a podcast the other day with Ringo Starr and Todd Rundgren where they went into great detail about these tours and how they are managed financially, who pays for what and how the profits are divvied. The biggest money makers are the tours with corporate sponsors of course, and those sponsors really rake it in, but there just aren't too many artists or craftspeople getting big time rich off of those.

I'm sure he's making a nice salary...you have Tejano artists who make crap donating their time for charity events, quiesenias, bar-b-q plate get-togethers...why can't George sell $6 plates and donate his time to SA kids?

Does it have to always be for the dollar? Where is the humanity George? You can't take it with you...

Hard to beat country music if ya want something real. That old Jimmie Rodgers, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Patsy Cline stuff....classic. Then ya get into Johnny, Merle, George, Marty, Waylon and Willie. All had some influense on Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and yep, George Strait. Some of the greatest music ever played right there.
