When you're owed 500, that's your money. Had you lost you would have paid 500, so yes, you lost 500.00 because it was yours already. You didn't lose the bet. Only true if YOU won. Had you lost, you would have paid. A sig bet doesn't risk 500 real dollars. If the other person doesn't change his sig, nothing is actually lost. No risk is involved.
