Jason Kidd has announced his retirement from the NBA.
Kidd was the second overall pick out of California by the Dallas Mavericks in 1994.
Kidd was a 10-time All-Star and co-Rookie of the Year in 1995.
Kidd had multiple stints with the Mavericks, culminating in a title in 2011 when he had evolved into a more complementary piece. Kidd also led the Nets to multiple appearances in The Finals.
The New York Knicks had Kidd signed at $3.09 million for each of the 13-14 and 14-15 seasons.
“My time in professional basketball has been an incredible journey, but one that must come to an end after 19 years,” Kidd said. “As I reflect on my time with the four teams I represented in the NBA, I look back fondly at every season and thank each every one of my teammates and coaches that joined me on the court.”

How do mavs fans feel about this?

He knew he was retiring, that's why he mailed it in. He had short timer's disease.

He was ok. He wasn't the reason the Mavs won, but he played well that year.

Switch 2011 Kidd with 2006 Harris and the Mavs lose to the Heat imo

Well yeah no shit. Harris sucks. Switch him with Derrick Fisher, non chucking PG who knows how to play in pressure situations. That's what Kidd was too.

mavs should retire his #2 jersey tbh. dude used to wear #5 during his first tenure but #2 is what he should be remembered for, because he won the championship wearing that number

Happy for him. Now he'll have more time to concentrate on his main loves, beating women and driving drunk. :tu

I thought it was because that's what he did to Cuban the following season.

This strange guy of some mystery race was nothing more than an accumulator of stats. I see him as a slightly better version of Mark Jackson, nothing more nothing less. Shame is that he will be a first ballet HOFER for his stats. He never carried a team and came into the league with so much fucking hype. He couldn't carry Tony's Jock strap let alone be privilege enough to smell his stinky finger.

Feeding fries to a baby....:nope

The Nets say hi... two times

A piece of advice to any ladies dating Jason Kidd:

Order your own french fries.
