Tony or Lebron. No one else has a shot.

Tony or Lebron. No one else has a shot.

I'd agree they are the strong favorites, but Duncan has a chance, especially if all of Miami's defensive focus is stopping Parker.

Anyone who is for the Spurs winning and doesn't vote for TP is an idiot... TD is awesome but we are here directly because of TP this year...

Also...

If Spurs win it will be Timmy because the Heat frontline is weak. If Heat win it will be Lebron.

milkyway21

Tim Duncan.
He will not be the highest scorer but his defense, blocks, & screens so TP will have easy access to the basket and his presence on the court with his team will alter the result of this game.

You know what I would really like Manu to win FMVP too :)

I voted Duncan because he is still the most valuable player of the team. Take him out, I don't think they can win vs Miami.

If they win the title I hope the voters won't just vote because he is the highest scorer of the team but because of his importance, leadership, and impact on the team.

I'd like to see Manu win MVP for several reasons:

1. It would mean that the Spurs won the series

2. It would provide perfect symmetry that each of our 'big three' won one MVP in the Championships they have won.

3. His contributions over the years to this team would be perfectly realized.

However, I fear that the MVP will LBJ

Duncan has a shot

That would require that the Spurs win.

Surely, after keepin' it real through the playoffs, you're not actually suggesting that the Spurs might win the Finals.

I was torn between Timmy and Tony, but went with Tony as I think he'll have a great series, and deserves it after all the work he's done to improve his game.

I wish it would be Manu... but I think TD will win it. Rebounding, defense, and blocks will be the main reason. Spurs in 6. Believe.

Spurs website, TBH.

I voted Tony. If he isn't the MVP, we are likely not winning.
Tim won't get it on "rebounds blocks defense" as others are saying. Voters don't vote for that. It's either Tony, or the spurs lost.

I wanted to vote Tim, for legacy's sake, but honestly, I don't care about that (neither does he). His legacy isn't going to be swayed by 1 more FMVP. Tony, on the other hand, HAS been our MVP and deserves the recognition.

Lebron on a losing effort.

silverblackfan
06-04-2013, 11:33 AM
Unofficially, it will be Tim for his calming, focused presence on the court for the Spurs.
Officially, it will LeBron, because the media demands it. Even if the Spurs win. (I just got sick think of this)

Personally, I picked Tony because he will have to play like an MVP for the Spurs to win and offset LJ.

If Heat in 6 - Lebron

If Spurs in 7 - Parker

you have to go with Parker you cannot expect Duncan to outplay Parker and win the series at the same time. It's just not logical.

feel free to state why you disagree :rolleyes

it's just not logical to expect Duncan to outplay Parker in the Finals and at the same time win the series. That would mean, not only Parker maintains is level, but Duncan raises his level even above Parker's, that is a few notches up. It is silly to think 37 year old Duncan can do this. But feel free to disagree and this time try it without posting silly images

But LeBron wins the Finals MVP!

HarlemHeat37
06-05-2013, 02:10 AM
I have no idea why so many people are claiming Lebron and Parker are the only options, tbh:lol..

Duncan is the Spurs biggest strength in this series, while the Heat have several options to throw at Parker, along with their elite defense against pick&roll ball-handlers..

If the Spurs win, the result could very well mimic the 2007 result in the Finals, where Duncan was clearly the best player on the team but Parker had the mismatch and subsequent Finals MVP..

Nope. Tim won two of the three they were winning together.

It happened in 1969 when Jerry West won Finals MVP but lost the series. That said, its never happened since.

Green and Leonard (with Duncan still an outside chance) are our leading candidates as of Game 3.
