How the fuck did he fall so far in the draft? 15 GM's should be fired.

Couldn't shoot for shit iirc

I think a lot of it had to do with his poor combine numbers, he only benched 185 like 3x, his max vertical was just 32 inches (that's really bad), he also played for a small school, and he was raw offensively.

He was a solid player by the end of his college season but nothing great like he is now, it's after college where he made his biggest improvements stuff the scouts didn't see. He revamped his shot and handles, he worked really hard learning from great nba players and became 10x the player he used to be.

This guy doesn't have amazing leaping ability where he can dunk over the entire team, explosive speed, etc. but what he does have is a superstar's work ethic. That work ethic has got him to where he is today, and it's what will turn him into the future of this franchise. Kawhi is easily one of the hardest working guys in the entire Nba.

All, true.

Remember the 1996 NBA draft? Kobe and Nash were drafted 13th and 15th respectively (Peja was 14th). Meanwhile who got drafted after AI? Marcus Camby. :lol

Because GM's are dumb, focus on scoring, combine numbers effect them far more than they should and Kawhi wasn't this good when drafted. Kawhi who can't shoot 3's isn't as good because teams can double off of him(See Tony Allen 2013 WCF). Still a valuable player, and better than the average player at 15, but limited.

Stat Projections: Loved Him. PER and Wins Produced are on the opposite end of the spectrum in dealing with the usage/efficiency trade off, and Both really liked him.

http://wagesofwins.com/2011/06/23/a-note-and-the-goods-ranking-the-2011-draft-prospects/

Has him as 3rd in projected Wins produced.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2011/insider/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=draftrater-110620

Hollinger had him 5th on his draft board.

Stats didn't miss on him even when he couldn't shoot. Some Scouts surely loved him, but I can't see any stat analyst disliking him.

Kawhi was also overlooked by the Pac schools until his senior season (was named Mr. Basketball California). The guy just continues to improve and a lot of that is due to his work ethic.

As good as Kawhi is, he's not stopping or "slowing down" Lebron. It will take a team effort just to slow him down. If Kawhi guards him one-on-one, he'll just post him up and get a lay up every time. He's got about 40 lbs on the guy.

Just a Q: Did the Spurs ever stop a prime Shaq?

It's not about turning LeBron into Tayshaun Prince, it's preventing him from making the Heat a better TEAM than the Spurs.

When was the last time lebron faced Kawhi?

Go0n

The last time Kawhi played LeBron was January 17, 2012 (http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=320117014). The middle of Leonard's rookie season.

James: 12-21, 31 pts, 10 ast, 5 reb

Leonard: 5-12, 12 pts, 1 stl, 6 reb

Nov 29 2012 (http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400277940) - Leonard out with right knee tendonitis (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/player/kawhi-leonard/injuries/1287458?q=kawhi-leonard)

Mar 31 2013 (http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400278818) - James out with right hamstring strain (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/player/lebron-james/injuries/139949?q=lebron-james)

look at Manu's draft number.
