He had to take a deep collective breath and nearly puked mid-sentence, but SAS says he is going against his heart and picking the Spurs to win.

Surprised Kevin Love picked against us on Mike & Mike, said Heat in 6... Jarrett Jack was also on the show and picked us in 6 fwiw

Thought it was cool what Stephen A. said about Shaq too. Said Shaq told him about picking the Heat, "You know better. You know better."

His heart LOL he says he is a Knicks fan so WTF is that shit? Don't forget that most of the people on ESPN are brainwashed by their own company. ESPN the leader in biased journalism always talks about the Lakers and Heat or whoever gives them ratings.

All these guys are going to abandon ship once the Spurs lose game one. IMO I think Game 1 is almost a must win for the Spurs because of the home court. Just like the Spurs, the Heat have yet to lose consecutive games in these playoffs. I think Game 1 should be the game that the Spurs try to steal out of the first two because they are well rested and the Spurs can go in at 110%. Similar to Game 3 @ Memphis after the three day break. Not to mention the fact that 67% of the teams that won Game 1 of the NBA finals have gone on to win it all.

SouthernFried

I think Spurs will take 1 in Miami, 2 in San Antonio, and 1 more back in Miami. Don't know which actual games we'd win, so I'm thinking it could be Spurs in 6 or 7. I actually think we could do better than that, but this is my "safe" bet...lol

Actually, I think Game 2 is more likely. We'll be rusty Game 1....

KL2
06-06-2013, 09:23 AM
I'm expecting SA to lose game 1 quite badly. They'll be badly effected by rust leading to bad passes, which turn into TO's which equal easy fast break points from MIA. It'll be a huge adjustment getting used to the speed of both the game and the Heat.

Oh God, Flo Rida is the perfect example of the idiot ignorant fan who knows NOTHING about basketball and just cares about showboating. He said Miami will sweep the Spurs, he loves gold, that he sits court-side so he knows, that Miami was playing around with Pacers, and Birdman will dunk on us. :lmao

Stephen A calling him out for being an emotional fan who has abandoned all reality :lmao

Stephen A's pick of Spurs in 7 makes no sense. No NBA or MLB team has won a Final on the road since the Pirates in '79. Maybe if LeBron picks up his third technical in Game 6 and is suspended for Game 7...

Some "expertise" from Smith there, predicting that the Spurs will go zone. Obviously he hasn't watched this team in ten years. They never use zone because they're absolutely putrid at it. Every time they've tried it over the years, it's been abysmal. I doubt Pop will suddenly install it and perfect it enough to trust it over a week.

Sickened me listening to Stephen A. say the Spurs were only going to win because he doesn't trust Dwayne Wade's knee and Chris Bosh's game (wtf?). Dwayne Wade played GREAT in game 7 vs the Pacers. He was jumping through the roof for rebounds. DON'T TELL ME HE'S NOT HEALTHY. That's BULLSHIT. HE'S FINE. NO EXCUSES MIAMI.

This is what I keep saying. I've heard a a good number of radio and TV personalities with this pick and it's like they're not even thinking about that. In the NHL though it happened in 2009 and 2011. Point is... it's rare.

There have been only 3 NBA finals game 7s since 1989. Going back to 1979 that number only increases by 2. That's a pretty small sample size. Besides enough teams have closed out on the road in earlier games to make your argument kind of silly. Looks at the Mavs in 2011.

A game 7 road win isn't that far fetched.

Love is a punk bitch who complained about TD getting in the All Star game a couple years ago so it doesn't surprise me he picks against us. He's just a stat-padder who gets his numbers in blow out games when the real teams sit their best players when games are over and done with...that is when he's actually on the floor.

I don't know how Charles Barkley and other people have the wits to call him the best power forward in the NBA. I mean how can you be called the best power forward if all you do is jack up three pointers and not dominate your position then on top of that be on a losing team? If he were to go to the Lakers and replace Dwight Howard, he'd be like the third option.

The TNT guys are much more tolerable than most other NBA analysts and they respect the Spurs more than most of them but they flip-flop all the time on their favorite position players.

Eventually they just gave up.

Heat lose and he'll say he was right. Heat lose and he'll go on and on why you never pick against Lebron, how he is the greatest thing ever and how the entire nation should have learned the lesson now.

Wow, SAS picked us? Remember when he used to laugh at Tiago Splitter? TO be honest, I came into the playoffs only wanting my Spurs to win the West, I didn't think they could beat the Heat. Then I watched them shut down the Warriors and dismantle Memphis. Good gosh, they SWEPT Memphis? The Heat were on a mission last year. They really had to Win The Finals last year, can you imaging The Heat they would feel if they didn't win?!?!? It was their destiny. Well, I feel this year, it is OUR destiny. I think the Heat mistakenly left too much on the floor for that 27-game win streak.

EXACTLY how I feel. The Heat looked unbeatable... until the playoffs. The Spurs looked totally vulnerable... until the playoffs. The reality of the situation has changed completely.

Let's not forget that in 2007 this douchebag proclaimed as loudly as possible that there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

I was among those at Game Six in SA who booed him with unhinged fury.

So, if he is as right now as he was then....we are done.

I have to disagree. If the Spurs win it will most likely be in 6 or less. Game 7 on the road is a tough game to win.

He is questioning how the spurs will perform physically. Stephen, skip, and Magic Johnson all agree though that Wade and Ginobili are the xfactors. How will Wade feel physically with both knees injured and very little rest? Will Ginobili bounce back and just not turn the ball over for Christ's sake? Magic Johnson said Manu should stop passing when he's in the air. Manu needs to redeem himself. That was the most pathetic game he has ever played.
