He was back there to get Tim to give an interview since he's not been talking to the press postgame. Shaq sees him and Tim as the old guards, and these new guys as not worthy. You can read a couple puns into that of course.

That was really more Duncan taking the hand slap and going in for the bump. Still, Shaq respects Duncan's work.

I've always liked Shaq. He was dominating, fun, and played the game the right way for his position. My only real problem with him was his being out of shape in LA, but it honestly didn't hurt his game much so I guess wgaf...

Timmy is the last of the dominant big men. We don't have another in the league right now and probably won't for a while. Shaq understands this, and he also has a ton of respect for Timmy as a player and a person.

Shaq's feelings for Duncan aren't the same as they are for Robinson's, tbh:lol..

Shaq has always respected Duncan, and even if he didn't, he would still elevate Duncan's hype to inflate his own legacy:lol..

Fundamentally true, but I don't think Shaq is that smart (at least consciously). Very easy to say someone is good when they've actually beaten you.

20 and 11?

Try 20 and 14, with 4 assists and 3 blocks. At 37 years old. And this was basically a warm up game for him, testing the waters to see how far he could go. The heat have very little in the way of defense for him. I think Splitter is going to heat up as the series goes along as well.

Shaq has grown on me over the years. His retirement speech was funny as hell, and who can forget Bearded Pop rolling out the Hack-a-Shaq five seconds into the first game of the season a few years back? Even Shaq couldn't help busting out laughing.

Shaq - the opponent - was fun to hate. He was the ultimate villain and played the part perfectly. A friend of a friend who played with Shaq at Cole introduced me to him and he was very cool. He wasn't in the NBA yet and was starring at LSU but he was genuinely nice. He has a great sense of humor and handled fame the best way he knew how. His comments about DRob were ugly but he may have been really hurt by what he perceived was a "slight".

The way I heard it, Shaq and some friends were hanging in the parking lot of a night club (they weren't old enough to go in) and saw DRob coming out. They started toward him and wanted to talk to David but David wanted to go home as soon as he could and not hang around in a parking lot. So he kind of waved "hi" and took off without having a prolonged conversation. Shaq took that as an insult - as a high schooler!!.

I grew up in Orlando right around the time the Magic got Shaq. I loved the guy, used to go to games, etc. I still have a ball he signed. I didn't hate him until he left for LA. Because I was a Spurs fan too I continued to hate him because I hated the Lakers. Once he went to the Heat though I didn't care anymore. Now I just think he's funny.

They're plenty dominant. And Hibbert can still get appreciably better. These two are thriving in an NBA that clearly has traditional back-to-the-basket big guys trending down.

See the very fact that you're trying to convince me that Hibbert and Marc Gasol are dominant proves my point, but you don't seem to be getting it, so I'm going to throw numbers at you.

Hibbert: 11.9 pts 8.3 rbs 2.6 blk on 45% shooting (45% for a big man of his size is pathetic)

Gasol: 14.5 pts 8 rbs 1.8 blk on 49% shooting

And these guys put up those paltry numbers against the inferior competition that we've been talking about. Dominant players would crush the shit big men that exist in the league today.
