I was a fan of Mencia a few years ago.

Now he's too angry and yells too much. I know's he joking and all (I hope at least) but damn, he seems very racist.

With that being said: I am DVRing it and will watch later.

I saw him on the campus of Texas A&M Kingsville and he started going off on how Mother Teresa is probably in heaven getting fucked in the ass by a bunch of black dudes. That shit was hilarious. I like the fact that he is so racist and angry, Chris Rock is the same way.

I just finished watching the show, and I wasn't particularly impressed. Some of it was funny, some of it wasn't. Most people can do that much.

Maybe it's just the way I've been brought up, but calling your mom a bitch isn't funny. Neither is showing the vice-president's privates, even through pants. And when the opening note and the ending note of a show aren't good, it's hard to sell whatever is imbetween.

Besides, I'm not too keen on comedians who have to shout to make their jokes funny.

I saw Carlos at Rivercenter Comedy Club the last time he was in town and he was hilarious. He is the edgier version of George Lopez. I havent gotten to watch the show due to scheduling issues on Wed nights but I'm sure he's being restrained in some ways on content. Watch his live show and then hate.

What everybody is describing is not what I've seen in his live shows at the Rivercenter. He doesn't just stick with the normal mexican cliche, he hits on everybody and he doesn't really shout. He's very educated, but not in the college since, self tought. He's one of my favorite comedians.

I wouldn't judge him on this show where they probably edit and tone down what he's really like. Nacho is right, judge him after you see him live.

Carlos Mencia is a funny mofo, he is raw, he really doesnt care who he pisses off at his shows and thats what i love about the guy. Then to top that off, he's pretty down to earth after his shows, he actually goes outside, signs autographs and takes pictures with you. I personally cant stand George Lopez, i mean his stand up comedy routine was funny the first time, but after that every single show he did was the same material. He needs to come up with new stuff, Carlos actually uses the news as his basis for his comedy show so most of the time its a new show your watching when seeing him live. His show is hilarious and his stand up comedy is even better.

mencia is funny as shit. get his dvds and you will know. he has always yelled and talked shit from his 1st hbo specials in the early 90s. most of the people who get pissed off are the very people he talks bout. funny shit. he talks about wetbacks, spics, ######s, honkeys, crackers, white trash. what do u want? doing no more shit than what richard prior or chris rock ever do/did which is make fun of their race, thier lives, and other races. love it when he goes off on stupid people.

For those of you that get offended by his jokes, I recommend his cd: Take A Joke America. quoting mencia: "If I offended anyone tonight, I would like to say f- you" or "I would like to start the show off by saying I apologize for everyone I'm about to offend".

lopez is kinda the same way. only thing is with lopez and mencia now other people have discovered them so they have to keep retelling their old material to the new listerners. mencia's show is based on all his dvds.

i recommend the new 3 amigos dvd that was just released. 2001 show in austin right after the sa show. shit is funny. RIP-Freddy Soto.
