3-9 fg, 1-5 of them 3 pointers. Why keep this fucker playing 22 minutes if he isn't hitting?

4/14? Huh? What are you looking at...He was 3/9 according to the box score.

Good game by Neal, including a big-time 3. If he heats up (no pun intended), it's game, set, match. Looking forward to seeing him step up.

7 points on 9 shots and atrocious defense is not a good game:lol..

Spacing in small ball. It helped the Spurs get the lead and win the game in the 4th.

Good game? He was 3-for-9. That''s not good. And his defense is laughable.

He was bailed out tonight.

Hopefully he doesn't cost the Spurs in future games.

Shot poorly but I was pleased with his passing. He wasn't afraid of the moment.

His job out there is to not get the team killed while he's on the floor, and he did his job.

By contrast, I'm in no way convinced that Cory can play in this series, at least based on tonight. But given that he only came up from Austin in, what, March? He's doing really well, and hopefully we can get by with Manu and Gary off the bench and we can worry about getting Cory ready for more serious playoff work next year.

His bad outweighed his good. That stupid ass 3 pointer on a fast break should have had him benched immediately and nailed to the bench. Hate that motherfucker. His defense is shit, won't fight through a screen and won't go under expects someone else to rotate over and he just stands there not even picking up the other player.

Played well in the second half. If he can multiply that second half some more Neal will be fine.

I think there is some real grinding teeth over cracker crumbs where Gary Neal and Matt Bonner are concerned:

I'm guilty of it too. I hated seeing Neal in there, but he was ok. He did what Pop wanted him to do, anyway, I think.

But yeah. Gary Neal = cracker crumbs alllllll over ST.

This forum is outrageous. The guy goes from cold-blooded killer and clutch 3 pt specialist (keeping the Spurs alive against Memphis the other year with an incredible buzzer beater) to "Hate that motherfucker". He has been fighting an injury issue all year and now it's "off with his head!." Come on... No guts no glory. At least he has the balls to let it fly.

I only like Neal when he's 1 foot inside the 3 point line.

Fucker let it fly on a fast break when he could have had a layup or parker could have had one. He hit some shots, great but he took a lot of stupid looks and forced some shots. I expect him to hit open shots, its the shitty contested 25 footers that he takes that are horrible. It leads to transition baskets and his defense is shit.

Exactly why Pop has him out there. The defense has to stay out on him even if he's not hitting his shot at a great clip, and that opens things up for everyone else. Tonight it worked, so people better get used to this part of the game plan.

If Neal manages to catch fire he could win the series, Jaren Jackson style. It won't happen. But he might just blow a game open. Also probably won't happen.

With Neal in there and only 1 Big (Timmy), it's dilutes the Heat's ability to blitz Parker with a Big on high screen scenarios. Therefore, it's tougher to get the ball out of TP's hands.
Parker had 11 points going into the 4th quarter. He ended up with 21. Plus, Timmy and Kawhi had enough room in the paint to get big tip-ins in the 4th on misses.

This would have been the perfect series for Jax to come off the bench. It's still crazy he's gone. :bang

An even better question is why did Matt Bonner play? I've always said that if he's not making shots then there is absolutely no reason to play him. Interestingly enough, Boris Diaw played about the same number of minutes as Bonner but Bonner still ended up grabbing two more boards than Diaw. IMO this would be the perfect series to give Dejuan Blair some more minutes. I love the way Blair passes the ball, he's got a pretty good floater and is not afraid to pass up an easy lay up. He would be another big body that can bang out there with Lebron James and box him out for those boards. Blair might even be able to defend Lebron for a few minutes in an emergency situation where Khawi or Green get in foul trouble. If Blair would go in to the game with the mindset of playing D and getting rebounds he can be a good fit for this series. BTW I actually think that Neat did a decent job for us. He hit some important shots that went with the flow of the game.

This. He hit them in those moments that it looks like no one can score.
