Total Rebounds:

Spurs 37
Heat 46

Spurs might want to get that in check if they want to win 3 more fucking games.

yes it should, 18 to one person, especially a SF is not good.

It's been a concern for the past 4 years. 2 rebounds from master splitter is unacceptable.

I would only be concerned if this was based on a huge Offensive Rebound differential. It's not. For most of the game, we were simply shooting worse, and neither team gave up a lot of offensive rebounds, so not surprising that they beat us in total rebounds.

Agree with this in part, but the Heat are a terrible rebounding team. Splitter in particular should be having a much stronger impact on the boards, but as already pointed out, this is a chronic issue.

OTOH, thank God for Leonard.

Didn't the starting small forwards combine for 28 rebounds? That's crazy.

They out rebounded us, outshot us, and outshot us from 3. They need to figure things out, not us.

This.

At least we can easily point to things that we can improve on. Heat played pretty damn well and still lost on their home floor.

The difference in the game was turnovers. If we even have 8 turnovers, which any coach in the world would accept in a Finals game (or any game), we probably lose the game. With that said, if we warm up from 3, we can afford a few more turnovers. We held the Heat to under 100pts. That's an accomplishment in itself, and a lot of that is turnovers (and some shitty decisions by them).

They are funneling everything to James, and that's not going to get it done for them. Mario, Udonis and Wade will have to play much larger role next game if they don't want to go to SA down 0-2.

It's an area that the Spurs should definitely work to improve, they should be out rebounding the Heat. Miami had some decent second shot opportunities tonight. They capitalized on some and threw away others. But it's fortunate second chance points didn't become an issue during crunch time.

Yes, it should. Rarely do you get out rebounded like that and also shoot that poorly ans still win a ball game, let alone against a great team like Miami and in the Finals.. that's nuts. We stole that game, point blank. Couldn't be happier about that W though.

BUT, with that said, we HAVE to improve on that if want to win this series. The fact that we only had 4 TO's all game won us that game. Keep the TO's down, rebound, and play good D, and we'll give ourselves a good shot at this thing.

Small ball.
Splitter plays like a perimeter player(always chasing players when our guards get beat off the dribble or lose their man)/Neal and Bonner sucks

Lebron was really bugged by the 21 2nd chance points on stat sheet when Spurs only had 6 OFF Boards.

Lets do that again in game 2 so he can get mad at the stats, lol

I fully expected the Spurs to win the rebounding battle. However low turnovers, low shooting % and they still won? I'll take it.

The Spurs can shoot better and they can execute better, so there is precedent that they can play better than we saw tonight. Heat are losing their identify and they're in big trouble.

I agree on all you said.

Weren't we simply giving up on defensive boards to get back quicker in transition?
