You can find these types at any party on any given night. They want to be part of the excitement but didn't keep up during the season so they don't know. It's mostly women who do it. You'll see it in office settings where the theme is for the local pro team and all the female cube dwellers sport their gear and have no idea who's even on the team. They buy the gear, go to sports bars to see the games but never actually look at the TV, they just drink when the crowd cheers and slap high fives... because Michael Jordan must have scored. I saw one guy with a Lakers tattoo and he didn't know who was the starting 5 for the Lakers all season. That's odd to me.
