yeah, although I've never really taken sides in the RM/Barca rivalry, I find myself leaning more and more towards the residents of the Bernabeu. Too many little girls play for Barca and they always seem to be crying about something

Well, you can't win those year in, year out. Arsenal has been on a run with their fourth place championships, but maybe next season they'll come up short.
By the way, I wouldn't be too sure Tottenham will actually finish higher than Arsenal.

Yeah I wasnt 100% sure on that one, but I think the addition of Paulinho will realy make them stronger

And if Bale leaves, Tottenham will fall

IronMexican
07-27-2013, 10:06 AM
If Bale leaves, Tottenham has shown they will reinvest that money. It's funny, cause everyone said if Arsenal finished 5th that they would finally splash the cash, and Tottenham really is doing that this year.

symple19
07-28-2013, 12:24 PM
Fuck that. No way I want them to fail, now. They kept their core, and even if they don't sign anyone before the season begins, they still have the mid-season window to make a move. (FWIW, I still think they bring a few more players in before this window closes, even if it's not a big-name guy. They can hold top-4 with a few depth signings, imo)

Soldado is hugely overrated, and Bale to RM is just a matter of time. Arsenal is still comfortably the 4th best team, imo

Soldado shits on Gir:lolud

mmm, yeah. A 5'10" midget not known for his physical play shits on Giroud? He's gonna get bullied, especially without Bale to take off the pressure. The EPL is littered with big, strong, physical defenders who will eat him for breakfast. (In General) While La Liga rewards players who move smartly without the ball and function well in space (Soldado), he's just not going to find as many opportunities in the BPL. Not to mention his service won't be as good as it was at Valencia. He's not great in the air and won't be able to hold up play against big defenders.

LOL 30 million

Hard to feel sorry for Moyes when he already has a complete team that just won the EPL. Sure, they could use some help (midfield), but it's not like they have any huge, glaring, weaknesses.

Moyes' real test will be on the pitch. I really like him as a game manager, and expect MANUre to be just as tough as they were under SAF. Coming from a smaller club with limited resources like Everton, it's understandable that he may take some time to get used to playing the transfer game at the top of the European mountain

Word is he's now going after Modric. IMO he should be looking for more of a physical presence. Why he hasn't gone after Fellaini is beyond me. That dude would put them instantly in the discussion for winning the CL

That's up to the boards to remove Wenger if he's not effective, it ain't a monarchy, tbh.

They're not championship contenders and haven't been in years. If anything, the Gunners scraping the top 4 gives the management a financial incentive not to do anything. I got nothing against the players, but they're not good enough, and with the league getting better, this was inevitable. I just wish it's quick so it'll force management's hand, tbh.

If the weak-ass board was going to do anything, they already would have years ago. Gazidis is garbage, and Kroenke doesn't care as long as the cash register is full.

You're mostly correct, of course, but I just can't take out my anger on the players. The sad thing is that even if they miss the top 4, they're still flush with cash, more, even, than any other EPL team (As an organization, not including the personal spending power of Chelski and Man City)

Tottenham has beaten two teams with penalties. Soldado, yet again, didn't have one legit chance on goal and scored off of someone else's effort. While I like the athleticism and size of the Sp*rs midfield, their service and creativity is awful. They are in big trouble without the dynamic presence of Bale. Lamela may make a difference, but he isn't even in the same ballpark as GB. Totts also has the worrying problem of letting off the gas once they get a lead. Both Palace and Swansea were able to get chances once Sp*rs went up a goal.

What I like about Totts is their defense and ability to close people down. They dominated a very good passing team for large swaths of the game and were able to do what they wanted. Paulinho is a boss, btw

Maybe it's all the new players, but they're terrible in the final third. No way are they top four right now. Other than Paulinho, none of those guys can create, and will have to rely on scoring on the counterattack or at the spot

INTRODUCING THE MOST AWKWARD HANDSHAKE IN SOCCER HISTORY (http://blog.foxsoccer.com/post/59428929256/introducing-the-most-awkward-handshake-in-soccer)AUGUST 26TH, 2013 BY THOMAS HAUTMANN (http://twitter.com/hautmannonfox)
Looking for a highlight from Monday’s highly-anticipated match between Manchester United and Chelsea? Good luck. What was billed as a potential classic between two Premier League title favorites turned out to be a dull, goalless draw. (http://bit.ly/1caAKw8)
The best that came out of the heavyweight matchup was this series of Getty Images, which caught the most awkward prematch handshake humanly possible between Jose “The Special One” Mourinho, and United boss David Moyes, dubbed by home fans as “The Chosen One.”
http://media.tumblr.com/0b76ca98cd4e879f208a2682fc1844b5/tumblr_inline_ms5qc8Rd271qz4rgp.jpg
Moyes: “Uhh, what are you doing?”
http://media.tumblr.com/fc2c3757c2205fe124ff098d218a5894/tumblr_inline_ms5qbsmvbl1qz4rgp.jpg
Mourinho: “I don’t know, but it’s too late to change it now.”

Agree they're not top four RIGHT NOW, but the Spurs will be okay once Lamela and Chiriches come to the squad. Also talks of them acquiring Hulk from ZST. I don't care how they win right now, as long as they're getting points until all of their targets play, they're golden.

Also, Whoever moderates this forum should add a Tottenham Hotspur logo...guess it's Real Madrid until then.

Yeah, there's something to be said for beating the teams you're supposed to, even if its ugly

Very LkrFan-esque...

Pretty weak game so far between Liverpool and United. Manchester are really lacking a quality offensive midfielder who can initiate good attacking movements. Cleverley so far just doesn't cut it.

Young and Valencia running hard up the wings with Van P. waiting... They can still score even if Giggs needs a motorized vehicle. Cleverly has got to cover a lot of ground, he can't and maintain any sort of playmaker role.

Giggs off, the scurrying Mexican on.

Neither team can put any quality together with 20 min left.

Man U needs much better mid field play. They did not make the characteristic Man U attack when down.

Liverpool leads the EPL.
