Isn't this the team you want to beat most?
Their homoerotic intro is nauseating. Their fans wear faggotty white pants. They have Birdman for christsakes. FUCK THE HEAT!!!

Oh for sure. I live in Eugene, OR, so no Spurs fans here besides me. So many bandwagon trash talking Heat fans, and when you call them a bandwagon fan they get all pissy. They literally claim things like "I've always been a Heat fan, but I never cared to wear their stuff until LeBron went there. But I swear I've been a Heat fan all my life." I literally hear things like that from them. They were talking trash to me after game 1 about how Spurs have no chance, it's going to get ugly for me. The #1 fanbase here used to be Lakers, not it's Heat, but Lakers aren't close behind.

i agree, the intro was very metrosexual - i found that very different from let's say the boston's intros. I'd like to see the Spurs' one though.

YES.
I never particularly disliked the Knicks, Nets, Pistons, Cavs, but beating the Heat would be amazing. Likewise, losing to the Heat would almost be worse than losing two Finals.

I want to beat them more than anyone the spurs have ever played.. ever. They're easily the best team we've ever faced and we're the underdog, which makes me want it even more, but it's going to be a tall task unfortunately.

Ehh... I don't hate the Heat like the majority of you do except for Ray Allen.
It definitely be sweet to beat them just because of all the expectations around them the whole season.

They're certainly one of the better teams we've played in the Finals (no disrespect to the Knicks, Nets, Pistons and Cavs).
Their defense might not be as good as the '05 Pistons, but when you weight in their offensive talents (not just the big 3, but also the shooters) and their level of defense, I think you can make a case.

I donīt think so, they are definitelly more hyped. But i think this Heat team looses both against the Pistons and the Spurs (2005 version of both).
Both teams had enough firepower nd size to attack and defend the Heat effectivelly. This current Heat team would have been destroyed by either Manu-Tony (of that time mainly Manu) and Billups- Hamilton. And inside they would also have nothing to do agains a prime Duncan or primes Rasheed and Ben Wallace.
Both teams were equiped with elite SF defenders in Bowen and Prince (in their primes) that would allow the teams to defend lebron without having to leave many players open. Because they would no only have elite SF defending LeBron but prime and (best of the league) shotblokers in Ben Wallace and Duncan.

The Heat as a team don't bother me -- especially when Shane Battier isn't playing.
But I want the Spurs to win this series so much just because it'd be the perfect cherry on top of an epic run :cry

I want the Spurs to win the series just to shut up all the millions of Heat bandwagoners who jumped on board the last couple of years.

That '05 Pistons team is certainly up there, especially defensively, but they were too top-heavy. This Heat team has their big 3, but their bench players are nothing to sneeze at (Miller, Allen). Something the Pistons didn't really have.

It's hard to think of another NBA team with as many dislikable players.

Battier and Grant Hill are two of my least favorite non-Spurs.
The Spurs tried hard to sign each of them multiple times.
But but those stuck up Dukies thought they were too good for SA or the Spurs.
Then they were Spurs killers in the playoffs. Kinda hard to take.

This. The Spurs winning this Finals would be such a legendary upset, on par with Russell's Celtics overthrowing Wilt's Lakers in 1969.

I will tell you Detroit was a much more difficult team to play. Miami gets away with a lot of stuff. Their super defense is predicated on the swallowed whistle, while Detroit was just plain ol' good.

Yup...folks, let's not forget that, unlike the last 4 times, the Spurs are substantial underdogs in these Finals. If they win #5, it will be a huge upset. If Miami wins, well, that's what was supposed to happen. The Spurs just need to dig and scrap like the underdogs they are. Remember, this is a Miami Heat team that was ONE PLAY AWAY from being eliminated in the ECF. They CAN be beaten. The Spurs just have to show up for 3 more games.

I'd say the Spurs' is even bigger (considering it was the Celtics' 12th championship in a 13 year period). :flag:

The intolerable combination of media adoration and bandwagon fandom that the Heat carry with them makes me want to beat them an immeasurable amount. ESPN is literally unwatchable when Miami wins. It's your basic good vs. evil. Good needs to prevail this time.

I'd say yes, they are the team I want the Spurs to beat the most out of all our finals match ups, but that could be because we are in the moment.
The Heat and Spurs have a certain level of respect for each other. You don't see a lot of smack talk or dirty play, at least not yet.

Agreed, they abuse the norm of "a referee cannot toss a superstar from the game" therefore they play hard, but with a lot of contact that is not called because otherwise neither of James or Wade would get to the fourth quarter with less than 4 fouls.
