All these years I ignored Bluegrass. It was too upbeat for me. I'd heard Bill Monroe and didn't like him and since he was the daddy of Bluegrass, well. Then a few months ago I buy this box of tapes at a yardsale for a couple bucks, on one of the tapes ...BLUEGRASS... was written on it, I'd bought these tapes to record over. But what the hell so I decided to give Bluegrass one more chance, and I'm glad I did, I was totally wrong about this music, it's great and so is Bill Monroe. I've already bought a couple CD's featuring the music. What strikes you is the talent there, these people can play.

Don't know no bluegrass, but I likes the early Zydeco!

Ok man it's 3am in the morning you get the call, she needs you bad, problem is she is 200 miles away, so ya jump in your MGMidget (being a midget) and grab what music for the road, yep trying to set a mood...???

The older, folkier bluegrass and zydeco is much better. I don't like the modern fast tempo showboat stuff. It's really annoying.

You need to read Louis Armstrongs...SATCHMO...no ya don't have to be a jazz fan to dig it. The story he tells about growing up in New Orleans back in the early 1900's, very cool, interesting. He talks about Storyville and how the cops wouldn't even go in there so what if some darkie got stabbed/shot, one less to worry about....Armstrong saying that.

Didn't seem like the situation called for romance.

I agree with my limited (as of right now) knowledge of the music.

If you wanna hear a badass in Bluegrass music - look up Clarence White...now that is a guitarist.

Clarence White was a great guitar player, but way beyond just a bluegrass picker.

Is he dead?

One of my favorites, and he is dead.

Wow is that Mick Fleetwood?! I never would have recognized him except for the long, skinny legs; he's gotta be the tallest drummer. And :lmao at those balls between his legs!
