The Sonics have contacted 14-year veteran Dale Davis, who played last season with Indiana and Golden State. The 35-year-old forward is also drawing interest from Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Antonio, New Jersey and Indiana.

They might have made a call. But I don't see it now with Oberto signed. Davis is a smaller version with better rebounding and less passing. They both blow at free throws, though.

Would fill the Tony Massenburg void

Uh Davis is much bigger than Oberto.

It can still happen. If they pay T. Mass money he can sit there and come in when absolutely needed. He is obviously NBA tested and proven. Oberto isn't. I am not saying Oberto is better or Davis better than Oberto. Just saying it can still happen. I doubt T. Mass will come back or Sean Marks will come back. Dale Davis can is a veteran looking to go to a winning situation. The Spurs did that with Kevin Willis and Tony Massenburg.

Maybe you're right, but Oberto seems wider.

If there are 6 different NBA teams after him, it's pretty likely that he wants more than garbage time minutes.

I think that Dale Davis is going to the Sonics, but I'm not positive.

Going to the Sonics makes a lot of sense since they lost Jerome James.

Would the Sonics be interested in any of the bigs the Spurs have?

The Sonics are probably interested in just about everyone. They only have 7 players under contract - and two of those are Johan Petro and Robert Swift.

Do they have anyone the Spurs would be interested in?

Well these are the only players they have:
Ray Allen
Rashard Lewis
Nick Collison
Luke Ridnour
Danny Fortson
Petro
Swift
They have a lot of their own free agents (Radmanovic, Evans, etc.) that they are trying to sign.

Would a sign a trade deal work that includes Rasho for AD? Wait...that might be a bit too much for AD. Never mind.

I've always liked Davis' game. I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Spurs.
Hell, bring back KWill!!
