dude is in no shape or mindset to be a head coach, he retired like last month and thinks he can swoop right in and coach a team? he was competing against this very team few months ago as a knick :lol

What system will he run? Whom will he bring along as assistants? How good is he at drawing plays and getting others to understand them?

These are things that we don't know about Coach Kidd. Had he at least spent one year on a bench somewhere, we'd have a better idea. Now, who can possibly assume this is going to work out for a team in win-now mode?

We already have a great coach in the form of Carlisle, otherwise I'd be glad to see Kidd taking the job in Dallas rather than any big name out there like the Van Gundy brothers, or a potato head no matter it is Mike Brown, Byron Scott or Doc Rivers

He apparently drew up lots of plays in his interview, and whatever system he runs is going to stress ball movement and unselfish play instead of the iso crap the Nets were running last year, tbh....

I actually think Kidd will be a solid X's and O's coach, the biggest concerns imho would be with getting the respect of his players and staying out of legal trouble.....

lol drawing up playing in an interview

Kidd will be a great coach, but he should have given it time by being an assistant first tbh.

Kidd will prove to be a great coach in brooklyn but I'm only expecting a short term success because the team is a shitty franchise to begin with. Kidd will leave for a winning team when Pop retires or Carlisle leaves dallas

How is Brooklyn a shitty franchise? Your thinking of the NJ Nets, not the Brooklyn one. Knicks are still NYC's team, but for the most part I see and hear more and more Net fans around. When Pop retires the Spurs prob won't be as good and when Carlisle leaves, Dallas most likely will be without a good player. Now do I think Kidd will be a good coach and the Nets made a good move only time will tell that.

Nets would have been better off by hiring Devin Harris.
