I think he has a motor that very few players in the league can match, just relentless. There was a stretch in the 3rd qtr last night where he was basically all over the floor, rebounding, offensive glass, creating havoc on defense, running the floor, whole package.
my question is after last night game and the playoffs throughout, where will you place him among SFs?
I remember many saying they will take Chandler Parsons over him, which I think its nuts.
I will say this, after Lebron, KD, and Paul George I will take Kawhi. Even over Josh Smith, Iguodala, Rudy Gay, Nic Batum and other borderline stars.
I am basically saying if any team (other than MIA, OKC, and IND) make a hypothetical call offering their SF for Kawhi, and lets say numbers match, I stay with Kawhi.
It just goes back to that motor, its either you have it or you dont. You cant teach that.

I guess it depends. Is Lebron in the fetal position by the time the series is complete?

I remember that insane post very well also, haha, so unbelievable people here are so brain dead.
Here's part of my reply to KL not being athletic “If he's not athletic.what do you call that one handed shot at the baseline while falling out of bounds, or more like being shoved out of bounds. Honestly you guys critique, but you couldn't make that..."
Any notion of him not being athletic really baffles me, what do people here expect..Dr. J?

Other people can jump 10 inches higher than he can... But he doesn't have the ups so he keeps his feet as a defender as a young man... Which makes him better on the defensive end faster.

The people saying that Kawhi is a good, not great athlete are looking at combine number, which aren't explosive. It's not saying that Kawhi isn't really good at basketball. He doesn't actually have to be an explosive athlete to be effective. Being a good athlete, timing jumps well and using his length are what makes him exceptional. It's defensive skill that shouldn't greatly diminish with age.

Kawhi really needs to polish his offensive game to be among the names you mentioned. I see it happening but right now he has the basics of it and good timing with a will to succeed. Once he gets himself polished he will be right there but I don't think that's before the end of next year.

For the first time since Bowen in 07, the Spurs have a player who can defend the opposing SF, SG (or even PG) scoring threat. Yeah Parker has turned into a top 5 NBA player or so. Yeah TD is a 25 again. Yeah Green hits shots. But in my mind, Kawhi's elite defense is the is the real difference maker.
So I don't mind if his offensive game remains average because Kawhi is immensly valuable when he gives it all on the defensive end and shuts the opposing scorer down

i think he's better than George and wouldn't trade him for pretty much anybody (not saying he's the best), dude is freaking 21 and already the best wing defender in the league.
