View Full Version : I got a crazy feeling Bonner and Manu are going off tomorrow

I don't know why, but I have this crazy feeling Bonner will go 5 for 5 from threes and Manu will make 6 threes, and the Spurs win by 20+. Parker will be fine as adrenaline and desire get the best of him. Timmy dominates like we've been waiting for him to do, and Cory Joseph finalls plays relaxed and gives the Spurs quality minutes. I originally predicted this to be a low scoring grinder, but with how fans hated on Bonner on Tuesday, I got this feeling he's gonna pull of a Neal on us. Hold me to it! I sure don't want to be eating crow.

Hope you are right! We need Manu and Tim to step it up. Miami is going to come at us with everything they got. Need them to contribute as much as possible.

We all know Bonner and Manu can go off at any time though. I just got a good feeling it's tomorrow! I never am confident when I get these random feelings about how a sporting event will go, but this time I am. I'm also thinking Timmy goes for 20+ points and 15+ rebounds.

Bonner shouldn't be playing in this series. They're guarding him with Mike Miller.

I'm worried about Manu's dribbling. And his turnovers. His dribbling has been very sloppy - not what you expect from a veteran NBA player.

Manu can go off. Hopefully, Bonner stays OFF the court!

Unfortunately, "going off" for Manu these days (whether due to injury or age) is a ~20-point game. I'd love to see it, though.

I suppose Bonner could go off. He got a couple wide open looks in game 3; he just blew his opportunities. With that being said, I don't think he's a good matchup in this series.

Truthfully, though, Manu appears to be moving fairly well. I don't know what was up with his dribbling in game 2; that was horrendous. I don't understand what's up with his jump-shot, either. That's been the real downfall. If he hits his jump-shots, he would also have an easier time at getting to the rim.

Let's hope he comes out and hits a couple threes early on and goes off from there for 25 points. I won't be holding my breath, though.

Unfortunately a good game from him is less stupid jacked up threes and less than 3 stupid TO's :( If he passes it then it throws the guy off so bad he can't set his feet and needs to reset or pass it out instead of a clean shot. He just can't seem to make a normal pass anymore alot of times. I hate the fact he is reduced to this but he is.

it's not unreasonable, really. his reputation as a dead eye shooter (outside of SA fandom) alone is worth 8 minutes of court time.

Tim is the one that's going to rock it tonight.

Lol I wouldn't hold my breath with Matt "The bigger the game, the worse I play" Bonner.

I dread every minute he is on the court regular season and even moreso in the playoffs/finals. I'm torn between thinking his missed shots in high-pressure games is a mental thing, and the fact that his shot starts so low. He basically brings the ball from his belt line to high above his head during each shot, which gives defenders time to contest. BUT, I'd always welcome him going off. I like how pop pulled Bonner as soon as he missed the open shots in Game 3, however I also think that even if Bonner hits 10 threes in the first 3 quarters he should not play during crunch time.

Tim is the one that's going to rock it tonight.
This is what I'm really looking for tbh.

Manu may be struggling but he is still clutch as fuck and will show up for the big game. Game 4 against GS to take control Manu dropped 20 and a massive statline but didn't get enough help. In game 3 in Memphis to take the 3-0 lead he dropped 20 once again. Manu will fuck up the heat.

The only reason I can see a use of putting Bonner in the game is if the Heat decided to put Rashard Lewis on the floor

No, then we insert T-Mac. Battle of the TOSBs, tbh.

LOL If Bonner hits those threes, ST's gonna explode :rollin

But seriously, if Bonner makes those uncontested shots, plus some Shy hooks, life would be easier for the Spurs.

Mike Miller was the only reason you guys didn't lose by 40 points. :lol

LeBron being secondary to Danny Green in scoring. :lol

Dwayne Wade being a no-show in the second half. :lol

Chris Bosh only shooting jumpers. :lol

Ray Allen and Birdman as game changers. :lol

The last time i posted something like this Manu got injuried, i donīt think Manu is cappable of going off in this series, he doesnīt seem healthy at all.
Prigioni also said yesterday on an interview that he doesnīt think Manu is 100%.
Would love for that to happen, but itīs unlikely.

If Parker is out or way less than 100%, the Spurs will need very good to great games from Tim, Manu, and at least one other player. Could be Bonner, but I doubt it.

Easy win for Miami tonight. Parker will attempt to play but the Spurs are going to fall behind enough that he won't paly at all in the 2nd half. Duncan and manu will be sitting early tonight also. LeBron is going to come out with a big game. Spurs will not play with any sense of urgency.

He has certainly contributed, but his dribbling has often been terribly sloppy and he's committed many turnovers.

Manu has been puzzling, though the reffing (mad reach ins allowed by all Heat players esp. James/Wade) and matchups have not helped. It's hard to tell Manu not to be Manu, as his passing has always been amazing.

One thing you can see with his couple of dunks last game is physically he has plenty left. That just leaves the mental part and execution.

From a BB IQ perspective Manu needs to drive more to the basket. Heat players have shown little propensity to draw charges, and we know the rim protection is suspect with their frail/undersized bigs. LeBron helping is their main rim protection as a result. That's just one more avenue to tire LeBron and possibly get him in foul trouble.

On Manu's passing, he needs to lean more toward the sound fundamental passes than ESPN highlight ones, especially in a close game. If we have some breathing room in the form of a big lead then fine, push the envelope with some blind behind back through the leg assuming the guy is looking/moving to a spot. If not, make sure the pass is one the receiver is very likely to handle. There are plenty of good passes to be made that are not risky or in Manu's case even crazy.

In short, a good pass in this series is not a high risk one, and given who we are playing the risk level is elevated. Don't play scared, but play a bit smarter and attack the rim!

His dribbling was much better in Game 3
