I had the same reaction. When we were up by so much, we pulled out starters. Miami leaves theirs in and LBJ is so low class he is still taking threes with 22 seconds left in a 16 point game. He was stat padding.

Low class. In fact, I'm pretty sure all his taste is in his mouth.

Spo keeps his starters in to run it up. He did it in gm 2 and tonight.

Miami has no class, and they wanted the score to look like it was another blowout, when, in fact, the game was pretty close until about the midpoint of the 4th quarter. This game just made me hate the Heat even more.

This why the classy bullshit has always pissed me off about the Spurs. If the opposing team is going to run the score up with their starters put Bayne in there and hard foul the shit out of them

WGAF. That's the least of the Spurs problems, I'm sure no one on the team noticed. They won't need anymore motivation for game 5 than a possible championship getting away.

Dwade playing that late in the game with that kind of lead is asking for trouble. Not sure what Spoelstra was thinking there, but I'm all for Wade playing heavy minutes and accruing more severe chronic injuries.

The Miami Heat are front-runners; they only get away with this because the NBA sucks now. They would be lucky to win 6 games in the playoffs 20 years ago. They would be lucky to win 2 games against any of the champions prior to 2011. Only the Lakers in 2009 and 2010 would struggle with this Miami team. Lebron would get knocked on his ass 20 years ago, but now, it's a suspension. Not worth it.

this was pretty fucking classless. whole team are so damn entitled, but shit, it don't seem to matter, probably going to win a championship unless Spurs get their shit together/get a miracle/get fair treatment from officials in last few games.

:lol this reminds me of when people had meltdowns when the Patriots ran up the score every game in 2007..

I highly doubt any of the Spurs gave a fuck, though, tbh:lol..

What are you whining about? Somebody had to take some shot. Play it back it looks like he's taking a practice shot. Did you expect him to take a 24 second violation for no reason? He took a 24 foot 3 pointer from a spot he's not a good 3 point shooter from waaaaaah. There was a 60% chance he would miss. He gave the least possible effort he could have and not take a 24 second violation.

Lebron seemed to sort of threw and elbow at Bonner at the end of the Spurs possession that immediately preceded the 3 and got a pretty good chorus of boos for that. The 3 may have just been his way of saying STFU.

Lebron basically told Wade to fuck off, as he padded his scoring to be above Wades. Wade would have led the game otherwise. Same thing Danny did to Gary.

Because their scoring averages for the series is lower than they wanted it to be so Spo left them in to reward them and allow them to increase their averages to give a false impression that they've done better than they have.

That's what the Heat have done for 3 years. Stat pad during blowouts.

The Spurs reserves needed to rough them up tbh. Not neccessarily hit them with dirty shots, but just play them hard as fuck and be extremely overly physical, and foul hard on every drive. Or Bowen them and step under their feet when they take jumpers while stat padding.

If they're not making them want to ask their coach to let them sit, they're doing it wrong.

Underrated move by Spoelstra, honestly. I don't think the intention was to run up the score, but to fuel Lebron's confidence, which he's had issues with all series, going forward.

For Miami if Lebron can make JS after JS so he can gain confidence in his shot is better than to play James Jones. Same to score 30+ points after his previous games. That's the truth.

Anyway Pop plays the bench earlier than anyone in the league.

LeBron knows that when people are looking at his career, they'll be looking at his scoring average for the finals. So who cares that he scored 10 of them in garbage time -- points is points.

Just padding the stats they're supposed to pad, tbh.

Like was stated I think Miami was actually a little scared of some miracle comeback even with at little as 2 mins left. LeBron 3 was due to shot clock though it was painful to watch.

Heat wanted it more and a loss is a loss final score does not matter. We need to come out MUCH more aggressive if we want to regain any advantage we can heading back to Miami.

First time ever in my sports watching career I hoped for an injury.

This is going to sound unclassy as fuck but, if one team throws in the towel and empties the bench and the other team doesn't respond in kind, I always keep watching for an injury. There's no reason to keep your players in, other than to run up the score and/or stat pad.

It was especially stupid in game 2, considering the Heat players were already whining about fatigue. They were gifted a 10 minute break, but decided to use that time to boost their stats.

Call me crazy but I do want to see James and Wade both go off and at their best in this series, it's pretty boring when they're not. I want no excuses, this team WE got is one of the best of all time considering their legacies and how long they've been together and still here playing for the trophy.
