Alternatives?

After 4 games it is safe to say Manu was unfortunately not saving for the Finals and is just sucking monkey balls.

Now with that in mind going into game 5, do the Spurs have any legitimate alternatives to help Parker carry the load of creating for himself and others? Is there any other player who has the skill-set to really contribute?

I am a Manu homer myself, so don't give me the "Manu will bounce back" COM treatment, at this point he is definitely not confident in his game, his shot, and is even getting torched on defense.

Any thoughts?

Wasn't Miami's weakness down low? I was hoping to see more Duncan on the right block last night.

The bigs did get blocked a few too many times by Bosh, Lebron and even fucking Wade.

Miami was fronting Duncan unusually well. If we try to establish Duncan early in the game (in the post), maybe the refs will call a couple of fouls on the big men trying to front him.

But I agree I'd rather Duncan get Manu's shots on post up isolation plays.

emphasis should be on getting TD going early and putting him in spots where a double team would be rendered useless, i.e. within 5 feet of the basket.

It is true that Duncan was being fronted very effectively, but that is something we should easily be able to overcome with a different passing set or something. I don't expect that to be as successful next game as it was in this game. If it is, we deserve to lose.

The extent to which Miami has been successful in blocking our bigs is absurd, but what it means is that someone is going to have to block out their blockers, and if you don't have Splitter in there to do that, I don't know who is strong enough to do it - maybe Diaw?
