As far as using sports as a metaphor and teaching kids that you can do anything you set your mind to, it just doesn't get any better than the story of Danny Green.

Cut by one of the worst teams in the league, then cut twice by one of the best teams in the league before you annihilate (it ain't over yet) the NBA finals record for 3-pointers while starting for the same team that cut you twice? And possibly an NBA Finals MVP?

This is what sports are all about. Spurs fan, Heat fan, basketball fan -- everyone should be a Danny Green fan right now.

Win or lose this series, the Spurs proved that they belong in the finals and no one can take that away from them. They are facing a more talented and younger team, a team that is also the defending champion with the best player in the world. Yet, the Spurs are matching blow for blow against them.

I could say that I am satisfied but the Spurs are SO CLOSE to winning the championship. They need to dig in deep for one more win. There's nothing left to save, just put the intensity on max and leave it there the entire game.

Hard to put into words what this team is. Last year I felt cheated. This year is different; they have answered the bell and come together. They take massive punches and deliver massive punches.

This is an incredible run. Sure it was aided by some injuries, but so have every other run by most teams. The fact is the Spurs have well-oiled machined the shit out of teams on their way to an incredibly memorable finals.

The big 3 all have signature moments. Spurs role players have had them too. Literally a team effort with incredible high's and low's and I said this earlier in the year; the struggle has made this tremendously enjoyable.

Uno mas. Uno. Mas.

It may be the alcohol talking but this feels like the greatest non-clinching win in Spurs Finals history. It felt like the opponent was playing their best and the Spurs were still better. I've never been this enthralled by a Championship game. Both teams hit every shot they were supposed to hit. The Spurs hit more, and were better. Holy fuck, what a game.

This run has been unexpected and thrilling and has offered so many wonderful moments and memories that this team may ultimately end up being my favorite Spurs team ever.

Whatever this trip to Miami might bring, San Antonio and Spurs fans should be exceedingly proud of their team, which plays with so much pride and dignity.

If we're as excited as this think about the guys in the locker room. I know that our guys don't show a lot of emotion but if we win on Tuesday night I'm thinking there is going to be a catharsis of emotion. Can't wait to see Timmy hoist that 5th trophy and let the NBA knock that Miami is not indestructible, that you can do things the right way and be successful.

It's not over yet and this last win is going to be the hardest to achieve on Miami's home court. The Spurs WILL push through it and overcome! They said the Spurs won't get past the first round, that Golden State was too young and athletic, and that the Grizzlies were too big and physical. The Spurs couldn't win any of those series. Against Miami they were suppose to be done after game 2 and again after game 4. I still hear that the Heat are unbeatable in a 7 game series.....Maybe.....BUT the Spurs have two chances to do everything they WERE NOT suppose to do since the playoffs started......

What a run by such a classy team. Basketbsll is the only sport I watch and the Spurs are the only team I follow. Religiously. For 17 years. I LOVE THIS TEAM, too!!!!
The Spurs winning represents far more than basketball, it is a huge victory for principles that are largely missing in our country currently. What a joy to see such teamwork, attention to detail, effort, sportsmanship, humility and unselfishness.
This is truly something worth "witnessing". Miami is being humbled by a real team.
