Mike Miller has been nonexistent since starting, so it would make sense.

Miller isn't a great perimeter defender, but he was great clogging the paint and under the rim... 37 year old Ray Allen isn't great perimeter defender either, and he's non-factor inside... not sure Spo wants to go that route, tbh

Spurs shot 60% tonight... it isn't about more offense for Miami, but picking up the defense...

Green took his one meaningful record in the Finals so he may act a fool in game 6.

Either way anyone not named Bonner can dust this fossil off the court so not really worried here(TM).

IMO, Spo will go with Birdman...

Bosh will get TD, like the rest of the series. Birdman can play weak side shot blocker though, kinda like Ibaka.

But in a way, I think Miami would rather see Pop match up and throw that weak ass Splitter out there. Plus scrubs like Birdman should play much better at home, with the support of the crowd.

The question then becomes, does Pop match up or does he keeps rolling with small ball?

What happened to Birdman? Why did he get cut out of the rotation? It seems like whenever he played spurs would collapse

Spo doesnt have enough defensively solid wings for that. ESPECIALLY if Lebron plays the 4 and Wade plays the point. Ray Allen/Mike Miller and old ass Battier arent going to sufficiently cover Green Leonard Neal and Ginobili.

and besides, its an unsustainable style of play. you cant just freeze two guys completely out of the rotation. theyll change their strategy, but it wont involve benching all of their point guards.

I think Battier would be a better option. He gives the same spacing, but is also a better defender. Miami gave up 114 points on 60% shooting. They need more defense. Battier would be a better counter to Manu starting.

Battier or Ray Allen would be a better option than Mike "no show" Miller. Heck even Birdman would be better.

I thinkk Pop's gonna keep playing Diaw over Splitter at this point

If I were Spo, I would go with the best 5 guys you can put on the floor.

Chalmers
Wade
Battier
LeBron
Bosh

This is the only lineup that plays 5 man defense and can still space the floor.

Barring that, I don't know why Birdman has lost PT, he's the only guy who's consistently in the trenches to get rebounds other than LeBron, so if they go Birdman maybe even sit Chalmers and let LeBron run the offense.

LeBron
Wade
Battier
Bosh
Anderson

would be a huge lineup and give the Spurs matchup problems in the post.

If he plays Birdman instead of Battier, they have no 3 point threat and the Spurs just turtle up on D and laugh as Miami shoots 18-20 footers.

Miller's defense is porous, and Battier can still hit the trey. This doesn't give Miami much off the bench, but right now they're getting smashed early on. Every player on this list is decent on defense, and Chalmers is the ONLY guy on the Heat who's been capable of even containing Parker.

This. Bird creates issues for us on the offensive glass as well.
