Pretty sure he cussed because he missed the free throw. He does look at kawhi weird though.

Eh, I think the whistle to signal a sub came after he looked. I think he was just more frustrated about being down at the time and seeing that fresh legs were coming in when he was about to go out.

But I wouldn't say it was Kawhi in particular that made him make that face. No way. He would never show it if it was something like that.

I wonder how he's gonna react when Diaw checks in tomorrow:lol

We can't know what's going through Lebra's mind there. But he looks over towards the players checking in, while players are checking in, and it seems at least that there's a direct corollary between what he sees and his reaction. What does he see? Kawhi checking in. What is his reaction? FML. Not definitive, but pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty...suggestive.

That reaction is definately based on the substitution, if it was a reaction to the missed free throw, wouldn't it have been immediately after the shot? His reaction comes almost during his set up for the 2nd shot. Definately not happy to see Kawhi....huge compliment for Kawhi.

Lebron is so big that Wade and Bosh have faded into non-accountability. It takes a hell of a player to make that happen, especially on the same team.

If it was a reaction to his missed FT, I would expect it to happen a lot sooner, not 10 seconds after. His frustration came at the moment of the sub. It is either of these 2 things: To Kawhi coming back into the game OR The fact that the sub made him wait longer for his 2nd attempt. You can see him get ready to shoot his 2nd FT, then it gets interrupted by the sub. I would prefer the reaction be towards Kawhi, but we will never know.

Honestly, it seems less believable to me to think it's because of the missed free throw. He makes the face less than a second after looking towards the benches and like 10 seconds after missing the free throw.

Maybe it wasn't Leonard, but whatever he looked at is more llkely what made him make the face, not what he did 10 seconds prior with no reaction. Maybe it was Spoelstra telling him to do something?

Actually spurs fan is partly correct. That reaction is triggered by lebron seeing kawhi although it probably is related to missing a ft.

For example, u break ur favorite mug, at the same moment you turn and see ur fat wife come in the room. You say fuck! Real loud

In other words kawhis presence contributed to the reaction

I think that is the most likely case here. Still funny as shit though.

I think it was because he wanted to shoot the FT and the delay due to the substitution ticked him off.

I agree, Bron is not scared no doubt, he was worried about the missed FT more than anything. It is funny and ironic though, but not true.

something caught his interest towards the sidelines. he abruptly turns left in reaction to -something- of interest. immediately he makes a sour face, starting even before he turns back to look at the rim.

you can make of it what you will; but that is what i saw happen.

Great video like the Danny Green video where he puts the balled up napkin in the cup and just as true.

This and that they were down. But I would like to think Kawhi is frustrating him and affecting his game. I hope we had big cut-offs of Kawhi's face all over to really rattle his psyche. Maybe him and Dwight would talk about their post-traumatic experience with the Spurs after this series. What a bunch of sissies. LOL.

I don't think the Spurs are underestimating Miami.

The missed FT might have contributed but it's 100% obvious that's not the sole reason he made the face.

It's not because of a missed free throw, come freaking on! When somebody misses a free throw he is pissed immediately after a miss, not after he is already prepared to shoot the 2nd free throw.

.

Wrong. I've seen many players continue to curse long after missed free throws...even while running back on defense for the next play. LOL at spurs fan thinking Lebron's reaction was directed towards Kawhi. I'm actually rooting for the Spurs to win the finals. But this thread is silly.

Oh what a coincidence it was then, he cursed right at the same time when he saw Kawhi was checking in for Green. Boo-hoo. You really believe it?

Wildcat67

It is complete nonsense to think it was because of the missed free throw, he didn't react in the slightest when he missed the free throw, I could see the argument that he was still pissed but only if he initially acted pissed when he missed it, he didn't seem to care at all.

We will never know if his reaction was to Kawhi or not, but it seems completely reasonable to assume that it was because of something he saw or heard when he turned around to look behind him. That's just basic human behavior and body language.

If you go back and look at my posts you will see I am against homerism and conspiracy talk in general, and when I first heard about this particular scenario described before I saw the video my first reaction was "stupid Spur fan being stupid" until I saw the video which seems to me to be quite compelling, and although it is not proof of anything as we can not be in the mind of Lebron at that moment, I also think it is not a ridiculous conclusion to believe it was a reaction to Kawhi, and nobody should be making fun of anyone who believes it is, especially if you believe it has to do with the free throw, which to me is more of a stretch.
