I'm trying to rationalize things. Miami played great in the 4th quarter and overtime. They hit big shots. We didn't. Everyone thought we were going to lose this game. We can play so much better. We need to incorporate Danny and Neal in the offense again. No more Splitter. We need ball movement. Both teams are going to be fatigued. The better TEAM will win game 7.
Then again...Lebron missed a ton of shots in game 6. So did Wade. Bosh was largely ineffective most of the game. We had a 5 fucking point lead with 28 seconds left to win the NBA Championship. Kawhi missed a Finals clinching free-throw. Manu turned it over 7 FUCKING TIMES. Tim scored 5 total points in the 4th quarter and overtime. Danny Green was nowhere to be found. Neal was nowhere to be found. We got most of the calls and still lost.
Yeah... I can see why you can't sleep...

Not alone on this one.
My only comfort is knowing that unlike those other painful losses, .04, manu foul in 06, spurs still just need one more and its their championship.
its one of those things that in order to come back from this loss is getting together, having a heart to heart, letting their stress out about this game. they need to let it all out, whether its punching a wall, yelling really loud, cursing, whatever it might be but after they are done with all that, they need to take a deep breath and realize that they are privileged with the opportunity to rewrite history and make game 6 meaningless.
with each other and knowing that they will each give their all for one more game. they were close but they were far from perfect. they CAN play better, thats the good thing.
they've surprised EVERYBODY up to this point, they can surprise everybody again.

Countless terrible coaching decisions.
Not the least of them is playing Manu way too many fucking minutes. We were up by at least 10 when Manu came in and pissed it away. It was so obvious that Miami was licking their chops when Manu was in and trapping him so that he would make a ridiculous pass that they could pick off. What's that, Pop? Parker was tired? WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK!!! There is no tomorrow; it's a must win game! YOU HAVE LESS THAN A 1% CHANCE OF WINNING A GAME 7 IN MIAMI, you dumb POS.
Don't even get me started on pulling Duncan not once, but twice in critical situations. You know they are going to get one good look at the shot. You know this because, if you are half a coach, you will have told your guys NOT TO FUCKING FOUL. Your best hope is that they brick the shot and you get the rebound. Fuck, if only we had a consensus first fucking ballot Hall of Famer at power forward on our team who's, like, really fucking good at rebounds. Oh, wait! We do, and his fucking name is Tim Duncan. Too bad he's RIDING THE FUCKING PINE with the game on the line.
The Spurs were killing it with Parker, Green, Leonard, Diaw, and Duncan, and Pop blows up the lineup down the stretch to put in Turnobili, Tiago "Stone Hand, Pussy Feet" Splitter, and Gary Neal. What the fuck!!! Ride your goddamn ponies into the ground. THERE IS NO FUCKING GAME 7 YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!!!
My only solace is that Pop will regret his bullshit coaching for the remainder of his life. And he deserves to.
Is there anyone in here, that DIDN'T know that MANU was going to have a shit game after his first 3 or 4 or 5 turnovers? It's only been his MO all season...1 good game, 2 bad games, etc.
Manu had his good game in game 5. He came out like shit in this game, and everyone knew how it would go.
Yet POP gave him even MORE minutes this game. IMHO, it's not even that close without Manu's turnovers. And that is totally on POP, for increasing his minutes in perhaps the worst game of MANU's career.
Manu TO's: 8 Rest of Spurs TO's: 5.
I was texting my buddy, Manu would come in and kill the lead. I was yelling at the TV for Timmy to come in and rebound, before Lebron's 3. Pop, you were a fucking moron tonight. And no ,that is not second guessing or any of that shit. Pop fucked up royally tonight. Fuckkkk.
Manu doesn't just play bad. He gives the other teams too many points with his turnovers. Then...after all the turnover shit, he STILL hasn't learned his lesson and gives Bosh and and1.
Look at the lineup that was out there, who was going to score? Certainly not weak ass splitter and certainly not Turnover happy Manu. I don't think Tim went to Pop and said, "Pop it's game 6, the trophy is waiting for us but I need to rest", You're running on adrenaline if not just hyped for the moment. Tony resting even though he didn't carry the load for the first half? That's just shitty coaching.. You have a 10 point lead and you go for the throat you don't ease off and hope to maintain a lead.. Shit, you call a time out as if that was going to help and you keep the same shitty players out there who had no momentum, no play called or anything to get them going.. nothing for Green or Neal?
Being 37 has nothing to do with being in the moment, 1 game and up by 10 and the crowd not into it..
Pop is just too damn hardheaded for his own good. AndI'm getting damn tired of his childish, bullshit interviews where he tries to be cute. Get over yourself, Pop. Tonight was his worst coaching game I can remember. Some can say Manu cost us the game tonight but, Pop should have yanked his ass when all of us saw Manu no longer had it. He gave all he had in game 5 and at his age and with all his ailments it didn't take an Einstein to see he just didn't have it tonight.
Every NBA player alive wanted us to kick Lebron's ass and instead he kicked Pop in the balls. Maybe Pop got into a bad batch of Jamaican Rum thinking it was wine. He stunk the place up tonight.
Why no TO 20 secs before the end of OT?Amateur coaching by Pop.
8 second chance points for Heat in 44 minutes of Tim on the floor.
6 second chance points in last 30 seconds of regulation with Tim spectating from the bench.
Riding Manu too long and not having Duncan out there to rebound on the Ray Allen 3 were big time fails. Keeping Duncan on the bench was perhaps the biggest fail, as Indiana made the same mistake with Hibbert in the ECF. Teams just keep letting Miami off the hook. This should help you get some sleep.

Random thought: Did anyone else notice T-Mac's face as soon as Green's desperation 3 got blocked and the game ended? He immediately looked down and gave a little smirk like as to say "Fuck. I knew it was too good to be true.." And he immediately headed for the locker room. Was the first person to walk off. I think he knew that his one shot to win a ring just disintegrated right in front of him after being so close he could taste it.

Pop has done several things over the last 6 years that made me question his ability to coach in big games, but none were bigger than these:
1. The moronic lineup to start the 4th. (Called a timeout, and still stuck with it)
2. Playing Manu huge minutes when he was clearly out of it
3. Going away from Duncan in the post when it was working
4. not putting your best free throw lineup when you need it (I can give him a pass from that)
5. Sitting Duncan on the first Lebron 3
6. The first LeBron 3 came after an offensive rebound. You would've thought he learned his lesson, he proceeded by doing the same thing again

Spursfans, just realize that if spurs win game 7, tonight will mean nothing.
i feel over this loss already because
1) it wasn't game 7. It was only game 6, thats why winning game 5 was so huge, because now we have another opportunity to win it all.
2) we are in the finals and we are in game 7, a position that i would say less than 1% of our fanbase thought we would be in to begin the playoffs or even to begin this series with the heat.
3) we only need ONE game, thats it. JUST ONE. Not one and then many other games to make it to the finals, no they only need one to win it all.
4.) once we win game 7, it will be THAT MUCH SWEETER after what happened in game 6 (miami think they have this in the bag already)

Yeah. Same here. I'm so tired right now, I'm on the verge of crying. Just couldn't get the mind to shut off. Alarm goes off in 45 minutes. Said before the game I didn't think they could disappoint with how amazing they had been, that I was pretty happy. Doesn't feel like there is a chance in he'll right now. Keep seeing the replay, man. I haven't been that emotionally invested in years. I said during the fourth that I was watching them throw it away, which was bad enough. Watching that collapse because of that horrible lineup. Then the return. Then those last 28 seconds. It is so ridiculous to be gutted over a game, but I honest to God can't forget that it was literally in our hands. Missed free throws. Missed rebounds. Missed calls. I still feel sick. I don't know how they show up after that either. I couldn't picture a collapse of .4 or 2006 magnitude. I'd like to summon shades of 2005, but it's hard.

My anger is not going to go away soon. They let the Heat off the hook. They were done and the Spurs let them OFF THE HOOK. I'm sick to my stomach.
There is no radio listening or Sportscenter for 48 hours. I don't want to hear those morons. I know what happened.
BTW, how does Kawhi Leonard not get that rebound away from a crippled Wade on James' miss on the three with 20 seconds left?
This is truly awful for me. I never dreamed the Spurs could win another title, and it is in hand only to be squandered.
The ONLY good news is the Spurs get another chance. Maybe they can overcome, but it will take a great deal of fortitude to do it.
I hope we can still celebrate on Thursday night, but it will be beyond tough to do now. I'm ready for the offseason either way - we should be in the offseason right now. :bang

And to have it happen to the most annoying team in history, where it will be replayed and replayed. If we lose 7, I'm done with TV, especially ESPN and the likes, for a lonnnnng time. I know everyone says that, but this is def a truth. Watching the Heat parade and shit will make me break things.

what's even worse is Lebron's going to get credit for it when in the end he missed shots, turned the ball over, and got bailed out by his fucking ring chaser
Tim's legacy was going to be enhanced last night. Pop took it away from him.. Lebron was going to get destroyed in the press, Pop handed it back to him..
