I think Pat Riley came up with that. Doesn't Pop realize that? The only reason the Spurs were in a position to win is because they had been getting crucial defensive rebounds. Then on a couple of Final Heat possessions, Pop thinks rebounds are not important? Also 3's of missed rebounds are the hardest to defend against.

He left Timmy out for switching purposes and that may have been a mistake.

But I neither saw a "wired" where the told his players to not rebound/box nor am I sure Timmy would have gotten this rebounds easier than someone else, after switching in e.g. Miller at the 3ptline.
