Ever. :vomit:

KSAT has learned that Little Red Barn on South Hackberry failed their health inspection last week with 34 demerits and was shut down. The inspector's report says "Establishment license is suspended due to exposure from rain water contaminated grills/kitchen areas. Call for inspection to re-open. A re- instatement fee of $103 will be applied to inspection."

Someone told me this is the second time they have been shut down.

I've never been there but I thought it took a lot more than 34 demerits to shut a place down, like around 100. Maybe it was the problem of the rainwater coming in (and not filth, as we would all tend to conclude) that caused the shut down. What kind of food do they serve?

Second time it has been shut down due to health inspections. They serve fast food steaks. :lol

Do you remember Bonanza restaurants?

It's like that only with waitresses dressed in cowgirl outfits.

I've been twice and both times I thought it blew.

Wow. This was the spot when I was a kid. Haven't eaten there in probably 25 years.

If I want a good steak I'm going to Texas Roadhouse tbh. Best fucking 23 oz Porterhouse I've ever had.

I don't think I would go anywhere called Little Red Barn just on principle alone.

I don't think so. There is the Barn Door out there; I think those are the only 2 barn restaurants in SA

I know the owners would never close the door when they walked in.

They have the skinniest damn steaks I have ever seen. They look like the kind of crap you'd get at the lunch line in HS. So much better going to Texas Land & Cattle for similar prices.

Saltgrass or bust.

I choose bust.

While there are plenty of thread about the subject of steaks and steak houses, I still think salt grass sucks

LMAO at Salt Grass............they are decent, but there are lots of steak houses better. Mortons, Flemmings, Ruths Chris, Silo, Biga on the Bank, Boudros, The Palm, Little Rhein, Kirbys, Perrys ..........Charlies (not in SA), but my favorite period. Hell even Grey Moss Inn wipes the floor with Salt Grass.

Little Red Barn, Barn Door and Tip Top Cafe are places in SA that have been around forever and everyone says are great but they're pretty much awful. I would send the "behind the kitchen" guy to all of those places. Yuck. Chain steak places are only good for quick fixes. Grey Moss and Silo are pretty good. :tu

Morton's, Ruth's Chris, PaPa Bros, any steakhouse that fucking oven-broils a steak isn't worth shit.

Cook that shit on a fire.

True, but thats why you wait an extra week or two, save the money you would have blown on two average steaks to get one damned good one.

I've eaten at all of 'em. The last steak I had at Morton's was shoe leather and hadn't event been within 50 ft of an open flame.

Well, not all of them...just Morton's and Ruth's Chris. But if they're oven broiling steaks, I aint goin'.
