View Full Version : How will you take a Game 7 loss?

Not saying it'll happen but what if it does.

I won't watch the trophy presentation, that's for sure. Sports for me will be over until football season (lol Cowboys). I'll follow the teams offseason transactions and summer league tho with very little interest...

I don't think I'll be able get over this seri
es loss EVER if we indeed end up losing.

I don't think i'll take it any harder than I took game 6, unless it ends the same exact way

a game 7 loss will hurt the city of san antonio actually more than it would hurt the spurs in all honesty

I realized that a few years ago after the .04 fiasco. I'm pissed and sad for weeks and the players are travelling and enjoying their vacations. It's their job, and it's entertainment for us.

don't know if I would be more disappointed than after game 6, but I would probably feel like shit for about 5-10 days.

Win or lose, not matter how shitty they play, the players still get to go home to their million dollar mansions.. and their supermodel girlfriends.. Next week, they'll be living it up on vacation at some exotic resort, regardless of what happens. Us fans, meanwhile, who've become emotionally attached to this team, will live with the pain and agony of defeat to the loathsome Miami team, when we literally had the championship in our hands. There will a dark cloud over San Antonio and the Spurs franchise for a long time imo. It will be devastating.

well I got plans after the game and must be on my best behaviour. So I don't know what I'll do if we lose. I'll be a little tipsy but cannot get too drunk for the function later in the night. otherwise I'll be a wreck if we lose :lol

any suggestions, in case we lose, anything I can do to temporarily seem normal???

maybe inhaling that shit from a bunch of baloons?

It will hurt really badly. Probably not so much at first (numbness sets in,) but then, over the weeks that followed, the contemplation of how close it all was in Game 6 would get worse and worse. Then it would feel better after a month or two.

That being said, even advancing to the Finals at all - win or lose - still enhanced Popovich's and the Big Three's legacy. They made 5 Finals appearances. That's something few players and coaches can claim. They successfully bolstered their legacy in this 2013 season, championship or not. Only question was how much it would be bolstered by.

Try to keep in mind how much fun this improbable run has been, be bummed that they didn't take it when they had the chance, and move on with my life. Either way the boys will be back next season.

If Spurs lose, I won't watch ESPN for about a week. The talk of the finals probably wont be talked about anymore, and trades and the draftees will be the talk for basketball. It will take three to four days to get over. After that, life goes on. I love the Spurs, but football(NFL) is my favorite sport.

there is some relief when it is all over. i think if we win one more ring i can step back and appreciate the spurs in a different way. i wouldnt have to hang on to every friggin game and dissect every bit about the team. i can just enjoy a game for the entertainment it is and appreciate the memories.

Go Spurs Go!

If they lose tonight, I'll just think to myself that the real series loss happened Tuesday night and that already took alot out of me. So if it happens tonight, I'd be numb to it, tbh. But please, in the name of humanity, let the SPURS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be at peace with whatever the outcome. I have had one of my biggest emotional highs ever being in attendance at Game 5 and it rebounded to a similar emotional low one game later. I know good and well the odds are stacked heavily against the Spurs when all circumstances are considered, so I've pretty well prepared myself emotionally over the day today. Having the day off worked helped.

Now the response if they win...that is a completely different story...

I will also come back some time after the game (don't know exactly when) to vent my hatred on Manu and Pop and relive Game 6 before I begin my vacation away from basketball. Losing Game 7 will be painful for a good week because I wanted to see my young brother celebrate a Spurs championship. I feel so bad for him when he was celebrating with 28 seconds to go only for the lucky BS to happen. I've already lived the Duncan golden era of 1999-2007 so I know what it feels like to see your team on top. Not my bro. He might not ever know what it feels like if the Spurs lose Game 7.

Sadly, yes. Hopefully not in the minds of the Spurs players. However, I've seen how game 7 blowouts typically work. I think we'll know by halftime, maybe sooner.
