A part of me is glad the Finals is over. It didn't end the way I would have liked, but it was awesome nonetheless. What a fantastic series.

That being said.... what do you think the Spurs need to get them back to the Finals next year?

I personally think the Spurs will need a slasher.

I am obviously pissed off by the end result this year, but I am actually excited for our offseason and coming back next season.

Another slasher capable of making plays when Parker is neutralized by athletic wings is tops IMO. Of course a hard nosed defensive big is always a need as well.

I'm hoping Pop can work another trade to get another young guy to pair with Leonard for the future. We cannot go into another season expecting the "Big Three" to take us to the Finals again.

Use all their cap space on splitter/manu

We can sign a max contract player. Bring in a big man.

Splitter has talents. Spurs has to re-sign him provided the price is reasonable.

Only if he is the best available option IMO. I can't see him improving much more than he has.

David West, isn't a long term solution but could ride out with TD and get us two more rings. Jarret Jack was a revelation in the GSW series, wished he was with us and not against us.

Improve our defense, simple as that while paying attention to our offense. I think Nando can be developed better but we definitely need a big that can handle the ball and play some damn good D

let manu retire, no need to sign splitter, blair and the other scrubs, they aren't helping at all...

If there is a sliver of positive from Splitter and Manu's poor play, it's that their market value has significantly plummeted. If Splitter gets offered a large contract upwards of $10 million, I'm ready to let him walk. His failure is still stinging in my mind though so I might feel differently later. But right now, I really want him to go so the Spurs have cap space to make a run at a shot in the dark free agent. Maybe even a sign and trade for Pau Gasol...

Jarrett Jack is a starter next year.

can the spurs even draw top free agent talent?

Dump Blair and sign Tiago at a reasonable price. Nothing too expensive so we can possibly get another big.

Tank the season. Get the number 1 pick and start rebuilding with andrew wiggins, Both his parents were athletes and he grew up in a 2 parent household, so i think he can be mature enough to learn quick and start being competitive with Wiggins and Leonard

We need a big physical man who can rebound. We also need a younger Manu.

-Let Splitter and Blair walk
-resign Neal if he's willing to sign for a reasonable number
-See if Diaw and Mills are gonna opt in, if so meh
-Resign Manu for a reasonable amount (~$8kk/2 years maybe)
-Put Green and Leonard through some offseason training
-Sign an Al Jefferson or David West to replace Splitter
-Hope TD comes back motivated

He is a natural fit for Timmy. I don't see any better options this off-season execpt for DH12.

A big who can do some of the things (play post defense, rebound and block shots) that Duncan is having to do.

Sign a big that is not Splitter, sign a PG and SF backup and we're set.
If Manu wants more than 5M a year say goodbye to him.

But I got a feeling that the Spurs will give Tiago 10M and Manu 7,5M, so we'll be fucked.

Keeps:

Leonard
Duncan (if he doesn't retire)
Parker
Green
Baynes

Deletes:

Ginobili
Splitter
Bonner

*Everyone else is take-it-or-leave it.

Needs:

Backup point guard
Non-Euro big man with excellent hands
A guard/forward that plays excellent defense with a mean streak

LMAO natural fit. He is too easy to exploit. Playing like he's 5'9" doesn't help his case.

cut Bonner. let Neal walk. let Manu retire. let Blair walk. let Tiago walk.

Jarret Jack. Another strong ball handler, slasher, shooter. And I think let splitter walk, save money if its too much. Baynes might be an option. Stronger, better rebounder, and has a mid range jumper. He runs pick and roll.

Maybe pau if he gets amniestied, but who really is there?

10M for Tiago is a little too high. But mediocre bigs are paid star money (e.g. Nene, McGee, Chandler )

He played well for the regular season and the Memphis series. Granted he's not a good rim protecter, but he played well with presence of another big.

I actually think Manu will do the smart thing and retire. It would be his best play in recent memory if he did.

Need a solid backup PG (could be DeColo, but we can't wait all season to find out) or swingman and an imposing big... I can live with the rest, especially if Green/Kawhi keep developing...

So your good with him falling out of the rotation in 3 out of 4 rounds of the playoffs?

Somebody needs to teach that boy how to control his dribble, and complete a layup.
