I just can't get myself to play the blame game.. we were the absolute underdogs in this series, and we fought until literally the wheels fell off... great season and great team.

That would be against the CoM rules, tbh.....

And if the Spurs pulled out Game 6, your point guard theory would've still held up, since he didn't do much to impact that game besides those two clutch shots, which were huge, but Duncan and Leonard carried that shit.

No, no. After game 6, I squarely put this series on Manu... no doubt. But after that game, they come back today and gave everything... they always play hard. Sometimes things don't work out and the other team is just better.

point guards are shown to not be necessary... aka heat

That's true if you have LeBron James.

Parker is as real as they come..I'm a fan of they guy after watching this series...he put his foot in Lebron's ass...I like seeing Lebron getting his ankles broke trying to guard Parker...Derrick Rose needs to take notes..and stop playing with the fucking ball..Parker gets in the lane and he's gone to the rack

Or if you want to win a championship

Ask the Pacers if they think PG play is unnecessary, tbh.

Or MJ and Pip, or Hakeem
or Duncan
or Kobe
or KG

or countless other non-point guards who have been the best player on a championship team

He actually was injured, it's obvious he wasn't the same after he strained his hamstring, he only played well after the 3 days of rest, and although he played well he didn't look nearly as explosive, even walking with a limp after the game.

Only having 1 day of rest between games completely ruined him. Even if SA won I doubt he'd have been MVP, it's possible Leonard would've gotten it.

That's a strawman argument since no one is saying you can have absolute dogshit at point guard and be OK.

The Pacers overachieved in the playoffs because they don't rely on high level point guard play. Teams that don't rely on their point guard generally overachieve in the playoffs with respect to their expectations (like all the Cleveland teams that had Eric Snow at PG).

No blame game. He woulda been the hero if we won game 6.

I don't think he disappeared. It was noticable when he dribbled around for 18 seconds and then gave the ball up to someone else. His 3-12 shooting was worse than it looked because it would've been 3-22 if he shot the ball after dribbling for 18 seconds without creating anything.

James effort on the defensive end against Parker will be the 1st forgotten thing. He deserves a lot of credit for that

it's really disappointing for spurs fans that he didn't show up but is it the most important game for himself? I think that was the game 4 of 07 finals, i mean even if the spurs had won the series this year, Duncan would've bagged the FMVP trophy

Or the Spurs/Pop/Parker allowing Parker to over dribble against Lebron instead of posting up Duncan or Leonard against shitty defenders..

fake ass hamstring injury
lol overdribble for 23seconds, and throws it out hoping for bailout
takes consecutive possessions chucking up bricks
same fkn team adjustment for rest of his shitty career chucking big wing defender on him and his in fetus position
lol wanting to win duncan a ring, nothing more then a fkn lie cause fmvp was out of reach, chucks a game to extend series and doesnt show up as usual

does that mean in the draft we going to waste another 2 picks looking for a backup? 6 years of wasting picks on backup pgs who ended up being scrubs

Parker never had it in him to be the leader of a championship team. The stats are very damning:

Parker's career season TS%: .550
Parker's career playoff TS%: .517

Parker's career season PER: 19.1
Parker's career playoff PER: 17.5

Parker's career season WS/48: .151
Parker's career playoff WS/48: .092

Huge drops from season to playoffs. Those numbers make David Robinson look clutch in comparison. He'll be remembered as a decent point guard that was lucky to play next to Tim Duncan.

if the spurs are serious of a backup pg, why not bring back beno....chuck the minimum see if he bites...
