Lost one they had 99% won

Considering back in the 80s and 90s I would have cut my winner off just to see the Spurs win one title, I don't exactly feel sad right now. I feel terrible for the players and it's devastating as a fan but, damn, the San Antonio de Bexar Spurs have done more in the last 25 years than I could have ever thought possible.

Do we need a containment thread for timvp?

I kid, I kid.

And you call it your "winner"? :lol

I was hoping for something better than that for my 2000s post, but:

I'm still so proud of this team. I will always love them! Go Spurs Go! I LOVE YOU!!!!

I don't think it is supposed to...nothing short of waking up to a different outcome of game 6 would make me feel better.

Agreed. They pushed the whatever in his prime to elimination. Twice.

Somewhere there's an alternate universe where that happened . . . and I'm still partying my ass off there now.

I came to term with myself when I woke up yesterday around 11 AM after doing to sleep at 7 AM (spent the whole night reviewing game 6 in my head) You should do that too LJ

Spurs are now like all other great historic NBA teams - you win some finals, you lose some.

Don't feel too terrible for the Spurs players...they're gonna wake up tomorrow morning and realize they are still guys that get paid millions of dollars for playing a game.

That said...yes...the Spurs have had an incredible run...16 straight playoff appearances...5 WC Championships...4 NBA titles...and the best win % of any pro sports team over that time.

BTW, the window is not quite closed yet...see you all next season!

GO SPURS GO!!!!!

Honestly, most old school fans I know are:

- Incredibly proud of this team
- Happy they got this far
- dissapointed - but still proud

Some fans here really need a taste of what rooting for a team like my Redskins has been like. You wait 20 years for your RG3 or Duncan to show up but in the meantime you go through sports fan hell. BACK ME UP SHOOG.

Spurs now have our 1986 Red Sox, 2011 Texas Rangers moment. Real heartbreak.

What a strange concept, a "Finals Cycle". :lol

Whatever, we lost. It sucks bad but we got the goods to bring it back next year. Heat got real lucky in Game 6 and even during 7 they got pretty lucky too with scrubs going off on us.

It happens. Just don't watch sports TV for a while.

Damn fucking straight.

What a ride the past 23 years have been!

The Spurs literally changed my life when I decided to throw in a job I hated and go see David play in his final season in 2003. My life has only improved since I did that, and the Spurs are a huge part of it.

Thank you Spurs.

I don't think we had it won. If your strategy is to let the best player in the Association shoot then there's a good chance of losing.

Almost won us the series, scro.

Lebron was getting nailed to the tree of woe for being passive in games 1-3

Same here, bro...and BTW, I'm a lifelong Redskins fan, so I feel your pain. Future is bright, bright, bright now though with RG3 and Morris. HTTR!!!

I think it's downright EERIE how the majority of the fanbase is on the same emotional wavelength after this game.

You did not expect them to win anyway. No wonder you are not mad or anything.

That might be it for me as a big spurs fan. I may become just a casual fuckin fan unfortunately
