In the two most important games of the year. Sure the spurs lost, but i'm happy for this kid.

Kid is really good
Yes he will.
I was going to post on that thread about that FT haunting him the rest of his career.
What a dumb thread.
Guy is still in his early 20s and has plenty of room to improve. He's already putting up 20 points 10+ reb guy on a regular basis so yeah one missed freethrough won't do shit to his psyche.
I'm more concerned where this team is heading. Nowhere good, that's for sure.

In all honesty when your old man is shot dead in a car wash when you 16 and you still turn out the way Kawhi does.. Its hard to imagine a missed free throw will effect him that much .. as evidenced by his Game 7..losing a b ball game probly doesn't mean shit to him.
If it was anyone else on the team other than maybe Tim then yeah the guy would probly never be the same again :lol

Don't be so pessimist man.
kawhi
Manu
Tony
None of these guys were expeted to become the player are now/were. Who knows. I don't believe this team would tank..not in the next 5-6 years.

I'm not being pessimistic. Just real.
I'm sure they'll still make the playoffs but will become like Denver for years to come. First round punching bags.

My guess of the future is as a realistic as your guess.
At the end of the day, we're not even remoltey sure what would happen in the three or four years. How knows, Maybe we're even underestimating kawhi himslef..mayhbe he becomes a superstar who knows..

i could care less about the missed ft, as long he showed up that is all it matters
all series he had no problem going ISO and beating whoever on him off the dribble into the lane for a easy shot, he was blowing past them and making them
too bad the fkn heroes and turnoboli went away from him, just fkn pathetic

Kawhi and Neal will play important roles on the future Spurs squad. Danny will be shown the green light whenver he wants to leave, he will get overpaid somewhere but definitely not in San Antonio

ROFL.
I'd keep Green over Neal and its not even close.
Let both go and get legit players.

The FT will either haunt him for the rest of his career, or it can motivate him to become one of the greats tbh. Some players just can't get over the mental hump but I don't think Kawhi has any problem with that at all.

Dude's gonna be something between a marginal all-star and a big role player, but never expect him to walk the red carpet. a 04-07 version Josh Howard should be his ceiling imho

He's already WAY better than Josh Howard. You must be joking.

this finals series by KL reminded me of prime sprewell in 99, giving it his all but wasnt enough even with the big games....

:lol Josh Howard
He was easily the 2nd best player on the court outside of LBJ, dude was all over the place. There were like 4-5 crucial deflected balls that would've easily lead to scores, the rebounds he was grabbing were tough as hell, coming up with crucial points when they needed it, playing elite defense on the best player in the NBA, etc.!
He's doing this without any plays either, Pop doesn't draw any up for him, he lets him go out there and score his own way.

Josh was an amazing player back in the day. there were even debates on whose team the mavs were, dirk's or josh's. Too bad his career was pretty much decimated by marijuana :cry nigga could've been up there with his 03' peers like Lebron, wade, melo etc... :cry

him and that other long SF whats his name was a bitch to play against during the mavs smallball lineups...
He is already a star in my eyes. Amazing young kid.

Kawhi will be an all-star in this league. He now has the Finals experience, going against the best player in the Game in Lebron and forcing him to shoot 45% in the series while being amazing on the boards and scoring 19 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in a Game 7. His clutch 3 got us close, but we choked.

You pretty much killed your Kawhi/Howard comparison with that. Next week Kawhi will be hitting the gym not the bong. His ceiling is much than Josh Howard.

Steals
But OP averaged points and rebounds for the last two games... if he was doing averages, steals would be 2. Just saying.

he will only get better if he had the green light to chuck or move up on the offensive order
most of his points were transitional baskets from steals he made, (still needs to finish stronger imo)
game 6 and 7 he had alot of ISO plays and penetrated the lane at will, even with lebron at times defending him, he just blew past him.....the move he did on lebron twice scoring in the lane that was a art of beauty...
dont neglect that inside game he had in college to be a spot up shooter in the nba, his too good to be playing behind clowns like manu, green, parker, neal in the offensive system, let him chuck damn it

sseeing him chuck was a thing of beauty, enjoyed how many times he just blow past his man attacking the rim only to be fouled trying to put someone on a poster
those 2 same moves he performed on lebron attacking the rim faking to one side pulling up for a jumper in his grill was just nasty....

Relating to his missed FTs: All is forgiven.
It's quite obvious that the FT misses didn't affect him at all in Game 7. He had yet another monster performance.

Either that or he finally tried to move in on his Aunt and she turned him down.
One of the two. Maybe both.
