one thing I would like to see us do is get a little more athletic and longer as a team.

for our FA:
let neal go. hoepfully someone offers him a contract.
blair goes
diaw is brought back with a cheaper contract and a promise of getting into shape
ginobli i hope retires
mills leaves
tmac is gone
splitter is gone. way too damn soft and frustrating
de colo is traded for what ever we could get for him.

FA pickups:
our big signing is OJ mayo. green becomes our sixth man. and that might be a good thing
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3450/o.j.-mayo
earl clark- a stretch 4 with athleticism and some inside moves. plays decent D and can rebound. would play great next to baynes with the 2nd unit
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3971/earl-clark
andray blatche- an athletic kid that needs some guidance. playing next to tim and with tony could really help him. good shooter too. would play well with TD
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2746/andray-blatche
cole aldrich- a filler center that has rebounding and shot blocking ability. could be a toros type player as he develops in the system.
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4267/cole-aldrich

we also bring adam hanga and davis bertans over from europe.
hanga is an athletic 2 guard that is 6'6". has good length and really improved his 3 point shot this past year. shooting 35%.

bertans is a big 3 (6'10") but has a great point shot. also has good athleticism as well. will get better as he gets stronger. quality backup for KL.

Draft:
1st- archie goodwin- a 6'4" swing guard that gets to learn from tony and be the future at PG. a westbrook type player.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r34DMqulMXY

2nd- a euro to stash for a couple years.

Roster:

PG- parker, goodwin, cojo
SG- mayo, green, hanga
SF- leonard, bertans
PF- blatche, clark, diaw
C- duncan, baynes, aldrich

Manu's coming back for one more year, we're re-signing Splitter unfortunately, and none of those FA's would ever cometo SA. So yea.

I do like Archie Goodwin as a prospect though. If we stay at pick 29, I hope we take him there (if he's available). I think he could be good in 2-3 years.

I'm anxious to see what the Spurs do in the offseason. I'm expecting some changes. Maybe the team is able to bring in a star player?

I think don't think he'll ever develop into a true post scoring threat, but Splitter is very useful and needs to be resigned. Miami was a terrible match-up for him, but he's definitely needed against the bigger Western teams (Memphis, LA, etc.).

We need as many quality big men as possible to lesson the regular season burden on Duncan. The Spurs strength is roster versatility and he adds to that.

Bertans fucked up his knee and is out at least 6 months, btw.

There are no star players available to us. No star player will sign with San Antonio voluntarily. Not happening. It either has to be a draft pick oran aging veteran looking for one last shot at a ring.

This is why you won't many changes to this team. Splitter wil be re-signed, Manu too most likely for one more year, and maybe even Neal. Blair and T-Mac are gone.

2013-2013 Spurs Dream Rosters

Option 1 : Duncan, Al Jefferson, Leonard, Green, and Parker. Bench - Jarret Jack, Boris Diaw, Tiago Splitter, Manu (at veteran's min), Neal, CoJo, Bonner, Nando, and Baynes.

Option 2: Option 1 : Duncan, David West, Leonard, Green, and Parker. Bench - Jarret Jack, Boris Diaw, Tiago Splitter, Manu (at veterans's min), Neal, CoJo, Bonner, Nando, and Baynes.

Option 3: Dwight Howard, Duncan, Leonard, Green, and Parker. Bench - Same as this year's minus Dejuan Blair. and Manu possibly retired.

If the Spurs can land Al Jefferson and Jarrett Jack or Dwight Howard by himself then I seriously think that the Spurs can have a legitimate chane of winning it all next year.

I don't get why everyone thinks Mayo is a big signing. He is an average player that probably will get overpaid on the free market this year. He will be the second coming of RJ. He is not worth the money unless he will do a one year deal for around 3 - 5 million. Probably not going to happen so best to move on.

Timmy and KG should just put their differences aside for one year and play together next year tbh. Celtics are obviously in rebuilding mode. The trade with the Clippers is off. Trade a draft pick and Bonner or somebody to the C's for KG and his restructured* deal. Bada bing bada boom, you have a good Center to play with Timmy for one more year.

Sure he could. Neal costs $600,000. The same production from Mayo will cost millions more.

Neal made $855,000 this year, but yea I see your point. Neal, no matter how poor his defense or decision making is, was a huge bargain these past 2 years.

I he chooses to return, Manu will likely get more than the vet's minimum... and nobody should be cutting veins over that, tbh...
