Less than one week until the NBA Draft, and all eyes are on Cleveland.

The Cavs hosted all of the top prospects this week, and their board is close to finalized with Alex Len of Maryland goin No. 1 unless the pick is traded.

Also, sources tell SheridanHoops.com the Cavs are in serious discussions to acquire Shawn Marion from Dallas in a lopsided trade that would allow them to move up from No. 19 to No. 13 in the first round by relieving the Mavs of Marion’s $9.3 million salary, allowing Mark Cuban more salary cap flexibility to use on July 1.

You can bet your bottom dollar on this: If the draft were held today, the Cavaliers would select Alex Len with the top pick. The Cavs believe he is the best fit long-term alongside Kyrie Irving.

Cleveland has the cap space to absorb Marion’s contract, and they view him as an upgrade over Alonzo Gee in their pursuit of a playoff spot next season. Sources say Cleveland is eyeing Sergey Karasev at 13.

:lmao Cleveland making a push for mediocrity next season and throwing away the chance for Wiggins
:lmao passing on the perfect compliment to Kyrie at SG for some over-sized honky

at least it would give us more financial flexibility to work with if coming true. a 13th draft wouldn't make much difference to our team, wouldn't escalate us straightly to the elite level or whatsoever. Our hope lies on the free agency. It would make sense to keep the pick if it was top 5, but 13th ain't gonna be very different than the 19th in a mediocre draft imho

There are guys in the intramural leagues at the Kent State Wellness Center who would be upgrades over Alonzo Gee, tbh.

Mavs would be lucky to get off of Marion's contract tbh.

Great deal for Dallas to effectively up their capspace to about $29.5 million for dropping 6 slots. Not like those 6 slots would matter given how badly they draft anyways since 1999.

03' Josh and 05' Devin were both decent picks imho. roddy was also an excellent prospect but sadly wasn't developed in the right way under Carlisle

:lol two straight years of being the offseason capspace champions. Cuban keeps reminding everyone about how he knows the new CBA better than anyone. Maybe one of these day's he'll use that knowledge to build a good team.

It would be a good trade for dallas if it finally comes down, but when I just learned from TradeMachine is that you cannot trade a player after the february deadline if his contract is ending or could be ended due to a player option. At least there're gonna need Marion's own consent to trade him away imho
