View Full Version : Parker offseason
Brazil

I just read a TP interview in l'equipe.fr website. He talked about his deception and said spurs will be back next year.
Then he talked about his offseason: after a very long season, he has a tour of 10 days in China for his sponsor then FNT July 25th to start euro preparation. He wants to win the title.
as French I'm happy he will play for FNT but also concerned, he is not 25 y/o anymore. On one hand he won't spend the summer thinking about game 6 on the other hand I'm not sure how the spurs will find him in October.

I have mixed feelings about him playing. I'd prefer he didn't but I think he'll be alright. As long as they don't run him into the ground.

OMFG... Can our European players stop worrying about playing basketball during the summer? S*it. Stop being so damn patriotic. The Spurs are PAYING him. He needs to rest that hamstring.

Parker needs to practice with a longer player defending him always till he can handle it. He knows teams are going to do it and still continues to falter in that situation.

Cuban was spot-on about international basketball being a joke. More than likely Parker picks up some kind of fatigue related injury causing him to miss lots of time next season. I wish the international players on the team would come to the realization that they're not very durable.

Parker should go all in in the Euros. The Spurs should start monitoring his minutes next season and he'll be ok.

I'd like him to work on his tunnel vision but I think that ship has sailed. As long as he can stay healthy. Spurs will probably let him and Duncan take their time easing back into things, they've earned it.

All the more reason why they need a better backup than Joseph. The days of him running himself ragged through the regular season need to end, but they can't until this is addressed.

They need to get a backup ball handler tbh. When he is out they don't have crap out there to run the offense. They need a Speedy or Barry type.

Parker should look in the mirror and tell himslef "no more hero ball bs".
Dude caused the spurs game 6 for trying to go hero ball..
Oh and he should probably work on his ability to recognize teamates because if there's one reason i would pick cpflop over him, it's cpflop ability to recgonize mismatches and not go apeshit heroball.

I agree. He should work on making that inside pass of the pick and roll.

even if it makes parker less capable for the regular season of the nba, i'd still support him playing for the french national team.
it's his life and his country, his dreams. the end of his career is approaching and his time to contribute in a meaningful way to things he loves and supports is limited.
it's selfish for us to take that away from him just to satisfy our obsession with the spurs. it's unfortunate, but reality.

This is the reason we don't win Championships. It's not their singular focus.
Body wears down and they don't have the stamina to last as they get older a la Manu.

I agree with CP3, Splitter and TD would have averaged 20+ on the Heat's midgets. The most important attribute for a PG is distributing not scoring. We applaud Parker for becoming a better passer but he's still not there.

I'm sure Tony will play French ball this Summer, go to lots o crazy parties and will absolutely not (after a decade in the league) add any strength either. By God, he's got to make sure to run completely out of gas should this team make another deep playoff run next year.

Except for the FACT that CP3 has never accomplished anything.
oh and Magic Johnson couldn't help Shitter to average 20 points a game

Yeah that is great, but me as a fan here is a Spurs fan only! I grew up on the Spurs so if I want him healthy here and to have stamina for a deep playoff run then call me greedy sir!
