View Full Version : kawhi Leonard does not have a problem with aggression. He is assertive enough.

The system and to a lesser extent his teammates just fails to recognize the dude.

I'm rewatching the GSW and the LAL series right now and just mainly focusing on kawhi leonard.

A few things I noticed in terms of aggression.

- kawhi leonard repeatedly called for the ball in the post. Manu's the only guy that recognizes this. Parker, either waives him off for a pick and roll 100% of the time or tell him to move for either Duncan-Splitter-Diaw to post up.

- Kawhi Can't just drive the basketball everytime the ball goes to him because the ball goes to kawhi on a play set-up for parker-green-neal-Gino 95% of the time. If he drives, he breaks the play. The only time he gets the option to drive is on late clock situations.

- He's had a few times where he waits for the PnR from the bigmen only to be ignored. Splitter-Diaw almost never gives him the pick. Duncan seems to do it, but rarely as well.

Overall, his lack of shots and lack of touches is more about the system and his teammates inability to recgonize him.

It has nothing to do with lack of assertiveness or aggression.

It's just amazing though that had the balls to go all out in game 6-7 despite that.

Parker needs to put in an effort to give him touches.

Whatever his reason for not recgonizing kawhi on curry, kawhi on jack, kawhi on chalmer, kawhi on blake, kawhi on nash..He needs to let it go.
