Oden's agent Mike Conley reports that his client is very interested in signing with the Heat this summer. He expects talks to begin immediately.
"The Heat need some size, that's not a secret. Whether it's in a backup role or whatever, he could help them. I know they're interested in him and he's interested in them," Conley said.

Lol no. Let his bitch ass go to Miami and try and coat tail his way to a ring. He'll be lucky if he plays 10 games.

Depends on how healthy he is, I actually think he could be the 4th big on the team. Spurs may offer him an unguaranteed contract. So it's a small amount of risk with big potential payoff.

I was talking about Oden a few days ago with a friend. Spurs need to take a risk IMO. I definitely want him.

Is Oden acting like he's accomplished enough in his career and now wants a ring?

Not sure about he's health, unless he is willing to sign a one year cheap contract just to prove he can play I doubt the spurs are interest in this guy.

He's been hurt pretty much his whole career and still put up decent numbers during a handful of rehabbing games. He has size he had skill building blocks. He got drafted by Portland. I'd like to see some team take a flyer on him and see just how much athleticism he lost. There is a pretty good chance he's decent for a back-up center.

Actually I always trade for him/sign him in NBA2K franchise mode (as the Spurs).

With injuries turned off!

Nah, it's not that. He knows no one is going to pay him top dollar, so why not choose where he wants to play? If no team is going to offer more than 1m, would you play in Miami/contender or Milwaukee?

This. Given his injury history who is going to offer him more than the lowest exception? If hes going to get paid peanuts (and rightfully so) might as try to get a ring in the process. When he proves he can stay healthy for a season, then he'll go after the money and be out of Miami's price range

You know guys, I actually don't think he's going to sign somewhere lame to "prove he can play" at significant minutes. I think at this point he has resigned himself to just being a role player or backup. He probably knows he isn't capable of being a starter due to health concerns.

I forsee him going somewhere as a backup for one year so he can ease into the game and prove he's worthy of a longer, more higher paying contract. That could definitely be us, but I never get my hopes up with good free agents coming here. It almost never happens.

I honestly don't think Oden would pass up a chance to play with his son, would this be the first father son combo in the nba?http://jocksandstilettojill.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/p1_lebron.jpg

I'll never understand the level of venom so many sports fans have when they talk about Oden. His injuries are beyond his control and are not the result of anything he has done. He has worked hard repeatedly coming back from injuries and surgeries, and by all accounts is a good guy who just wants to play basketball. It'd be different if he was a lazy player with a bad attitude who acted like the world owed him something, but he's not like that at all.

I don't hear much venom for Oden, tbh. Mostly just sympathy

:lol

Don't get me wrong I feel bad that injuries wrecked what might have been a great pro career for Greg but would Riley really sign this guy? He thinks about playing ball and his body hurts..

If I were the Spurs, and Oden is in game shape, I'd sign him to a one year vet min contract: if there is one thing Pop is good at, it's pacing his players, and Oden could have too much possible upside for the Spurs too just pass on. However, he, like everyone else, is foaming at the mouth for the Heat.
