Most of us knew it was coming, the question was when it was coming. Don't mind the hire at all considering that him and the players are familiar with each other not to mention he was the defensive coordinator for one of the best defensive in the NBA.

I do hope that Henry Bibby is not part of the staff.

The future of analytics in the league hinge on the success of the Grizzlies. They are making all these moves with Hollinger's math in mind. We'll see how well money ball works in the NBA.

I imagine Randolph will be moved soon to make room for Ed Davis. I doubt Joerger objects too badly, since ZBo is a sieve on defense.

I still can't believe a franchise that's supposedly serious about analytics would ever let Hollinger anywhere near their front office.... same clown who ranked Yao as the best player in the league one year and thought Jackie Butler would be the missing piece for the Spurs :lol

They need to move Randolph but not sure if they will find any takers. 17 million a year for him is too much.

Most Memphis fans approved this signing. I read somewhere he was the brain behind Memphis defense. I like the fact the Grizz skipped George Karl and Denver gave Shaq a chance. The league needs to stop recycling some of these old coaches.

wtf? Ed Davis?

He was the actual young piece the Grizzlies got for Gay. He has a lot of potential, but he puts up good per 36 numbers and has good advanced stats. I imagine Hollinger pushed hard for Davis and wasn't very happy Hollins refused to play him. If Hollinger is really running things, then Davis is probably considered one of the most valuable pieces on the team, and he'll get an opportunity to show it as a starter pretty soon. That's another way that analytics will either sink or swim over the next few years.
