Saw somewhere that Metta World Peace opted out from the Lakers. Do you guys think we should get him?

BTW, I can't seem to get the link, but if you want you can scroll down.. I tried to upload the screenshot, but I can't seem to figure it out...

No, we need a SG who can create his own shot.

No thanks. The dude's a nut case.

"Do you think we'll get fined?" - Ron Artest to Stephen Jackson after punching a fan during a game.

still a nut case, and way way down from his 2004 peak.

absolutely not. his defense in the halfcourt is still OK, but mainly against slower/stronger players, but he can still get blown by and his transition defense is terrible. his half court offense only shows when he is right at the rim, and his transition offense is awful. a terrible outside shooter, and for a guy thats been around as long as he has, his bbiq on offense is downright awful. no thanks. he had one fluke season on houston where i think he shot around 40% from three, but he's resorted to garbage outside shooting since then. outlier year.

He's opting back in, so...moot point.

How is it moot now that he's opted in?

He's going back to the Lakers. Thus, we cannot sign him.

Did you mean he OPTED IN or did you mean it when you said he's opting back in? From what I understand, you can't opt in once you've opted out, so maybe you meant the former?

Definitely meant the former. To me, opting in = opting back in.

He never opted out.

Artest might be again a possible option if Lakers amnesty him.

But, hell no. Do no want him. He isn't just worth the headaches.

I'm not 100% against signing players with attitude red flags but these players must be really good to overcome that flaw. Artest is nowhere near good enough to be in that category.

Gotcha, just wanted to make sure. Thanks for clarifying it man.

So why is it a moot point then? You want to trade Ginobili for him or something? I'm confused.
