View Full Version : Is it coincidence that all the bad miracles and wonders happened to us?

Or we are cursed? No need to mention all things of the past... But from the last one I would not be able to recover the rest of my life... Why god hate us so much? How he could be so cruel, mess with my life like that and bring unbelievable pain? To see Spurs and Duncan getting number 5 were ultimate will of mine, it was so important to my happiness in life, it would have made me feel on top of the world for a lot lot time, i would have found for myself eternity tranquility... But now I'm in exactly the opposite state of mine, I'm feeling so torn, so disassembled, feel like I don't want to live life anymore. Why why why god is so shit? Why he was have to make me feel like I'm on the verge of the biggest happiness there is and then take it away for me?!?! Why?!??

Oh, Gee!!

That's good stuff man! Raw emotions we all felt expressed by an absolute die hard Spurs fan, not a native English speaker so some grammar errors and unusual word choices. Life a bit out of balance but we feel ya man!

Hey buddy: Move on. Start tracking the Spurs offseason moves and become a baseball and/or football fan, that will help get you through until October. Also I would stop blaming God, Satan (Stern) wins a few now and then, especially on his home court.

Ehhhhh you win some you lose some. They lost their first finals and it sucked and luck was not on our side! We were lucky to get out of round two though with that huge comeback! If not we might not even be in those finals. Spurs have had some luck fall to them before, moreso than Kings fans or Sunds fans in the 00's would like to Imagine (No rings out of those teams). Portland had a great team too and never even made the finals.

This year's Finals game 6 is really just the other side of the coin of 2005 Finals game 5. Sometimes the miracle happens to you. Sometimes against you. I'll take a 4-1 finals record.

Oh, and it sounds like you hate your life a lot more than god does.

Yep . . .

Us fans are conditioned to think we're always the victims.

When we get lucky, well, we just deserved it.

The OP started it. I didn't randomly bring it up. He had the audacity to whine about god "hating" him because his favorite basketball team didn't win a championship. It's an asinine and compassion-less position to take given how trivial his "problem" is in the face of so much suffering around the world.

Nice passive aggressive insult, though!

Spursfan being a spoiled brat per par tbh.

Every non Celtic/Laker/Bullfan will take 4 championships and 5 finals appearances if it meant selling their soul.

jestersmash
06-26-2013, 02:58 AM
Also think about the disappointments the Celtics have gone through. They were arguably robbed of a series win against Miami last year in that atrocoiusly reffed game 6, and they were arguably robbed of a title from the Lakers with that atrociously reffed game 7 (Kobe's 6-24 game). Yeah, it wasn't 2002 game 6 bad, but it was pretty bad.

At least we missed free throws to throw away the championship. We had our chances.

There were not much lucky bounces and Robs 3pts was a set play or a broken one that spurs took advantage of

you guys trying to compare this stuff to others things that happened in the past... but you only try to fool yourselfs, cause there is nothing that come close to that heartbreak, missing and misery feeling... you can't compare this to anything in terms of how much being close and having it in our hands... personally i am the biggest and the most pure Duncan fan in all world, we were on verge of winning the most amazing championship ever, a championship with pride, with wonderful path, against all odds, against the ring chasing culture of today... Duncan was about to get NBA ring number 5 with him MVP, the most special accomplish you can ever achieve - not only in sport but in all life, Duncan was about to getting the mark of the second greatest player of all time!
like you all i also thought before the last series that there are more important things in life than sport, but after the finals it just put things in prespective, there is nothing more important than Duncan and Spurst getting #5!!!

I wouldn't say ALL. Here's proof:

1. #1 Picks in '87 and '97
2. Manu at 57
3. TP at 28
4. Memorial Day miracle
5. Kobe missing those FTs during the '99 playoffs
6. Big Shot Rob in '05
7. Game 7 in '05
8. Steve Kerr in '03
9. Jack hitting crazy 3s during game 6 of the '03 finals

A couple of thoughts-
Luck is luck- random
4 titles had a chance at a fifth this year and maybe a chance in the past to have had another. Outside, but not remote chance next year. In the playoffs they mentioned that GS hadn't been in the conference finals for 38 years!

Remember the Spurs are a small market team. They do not have the resources to "load up" like some teams have. Look at Miami. LA. Boston. Because of that the Spurs have never and will never have the talent margin to overcome random events.

We've been pretty damn lucky as Spurs fans. I am extremely disappointed at the finals. Just think if the ball had bounced differently at least once they would be champs. However if the ping pong balls hadn't bounced differently No Duncan....

Spurs were never able to do what other great teams have done: repeat. Bad luck is a part of it, and so are self-inflicted wounds. And so is getting beat by better teams.

We have a chance to repeat right now, Tim has two years' on his contract. He is not the sort to quit early as long as he stays healthy.

right now i can't enjoy life at all, after what happened can't find peace with myself, i don't know how i'm going to carry on... to be on the verge of feeling on top of the world, to smell, almost hold the ultimate happiness that exists in life, getting close inside me to the biggest euphoria feeling, but then all disappear... i really needed that feeling to be complete, it would have change me as a person, would have made me a better, bigger, stronger person... it felt to me that all the past, all my life and all hard times and bad things i go through in life were for this moment to happened, moment that i found out was everything to me, but than the ferocious ending, it felt like the world betray me... now it so tough to carry on, it make me see every moment in life with grey colors and with uninterested mind...

Our chance of losing that game in that position was less than 1%. And I bet almost of all the teams that lost in that position most were in the regular season. Miami needed everything to go perfect for them and we needed everything to go wrong. This is not on the level of Horry hitting an open 3 in game 5.

We still have 80% of our rings is one way I looked at it, more than most most fans will see in their lifetime.

Also understand not everyone can win. I think we also had about 80% of America rooting for us. We were America's team for two weeks! Everyone knows the Heat are paper champs only and we had them beat.
